Infernal vengeance is a band with a very cliché name, I think there's already 4 movies, 3 albums and 1 book with that name, but I'm not here to judge the creativity of the bands when choosing their name. Infernal vengeance is a band that rises from the ashes of defunct Viking act Mithotyn, Karl Beckman formed this band under the banner of Viking Metal.
But this doesn't sound like Viking Metal, and I know Viking Metal relies more on the Viking lyrics rather than the folk passages, this doesn't sound Viking at all, but neither Amon Amarth and people call it Viking Metal. Anyway, this is a 5 song Demo with some good ideas I must say. The style of the band is rather thrashy with some harsh vocals, without being growls or shrieks.
First song sounds really Doomy, moving to Sludge/groovy terrains later, "Bleed For Your Master" a catchy track with some good riffs, "Defence Our Kingdom" is the only song in the demo that sounds really Viking, therefore is my favorite song of the Cd. "I Am God" sounds like your standard Melodic Death Metal song, while "Launch Of Evil" is the perfect closer for the Cd, the chorus is really epic!
The production is really weak and mediocre in my opinion, and the cover art is just awful, so chances that people will pick up this without knowing the music are very rare. The music is good, although I prefer the Viking-ish songs (only 2 of them), the rest sound to typical to me. Hope that with the proper label support Infernal vengeance can surprise us with a product of better quality.
