01. Cascade
02. Impression
We only have two tracks (and some videos of some other songs) on this demo of this young Bulgarian band but two promising ones really. Mystica plays a really heavy Progressive Metal and even if it's hard to have a good opinion on a demo with only two songs, I think that this band deserves all our interest.
"Cascade" is really short, only 8 mins then evidently, that's not so easy to write a review of the album but on the other hand, it's also really easy to see all the good points of the two songs. There are good things in this demo. The songs are heavy but not violent if you see what I mean, and that's punchy, and when you add the nice melodies that's a pleasure to listen to this album and I believe in Mystica. That's technical but not boring and "Cascade" is really promising for the band.
The keyboards are really present and it gives an excellent ambiance to the music and the voice of the singer is not bad at all, even if we can regret the strong accent. That's a real problem with a lot of bands, when you sing in English with a clean voice it must be perfect but we all know that it is not so easy evidently? That's just a detail that must be fixed. Another good thing with the music of Mystica is the really professional recording. For a demo, really that's good. Congratulation?
Only one song (the other one is an instrumental) then I cannot say a lot of things on this demo but for sure I would like to listen to some other things by the band. Without any doubt I feel a lot of potentiality in this band and if they follow this way, they will probably have the luck to record an album. If you like powerful Prog but yet melodic Metal, remember this name Mystica.
