"Evidence" is the 2nd demo of the Finnish combo Reprisal Scars. Like a lot of bands that follow this trend nowadays, they chose to play a good old Gothenburg Death Metal. Evidently that's always really nice to listen to this kind of music, but you all know like me that it must be good if you want to do something in the metal scene. And actually, that's not so bad for Reprisal Scars.

"Evidence" is a good and honest demo, the four songs follow the classic structure of the real Gothenburg Death. Strong and aggressive riffs, thundering drums but above all some super melodies that enter and stay in your head easily. However, the voice of the singer is really cool, a lot more aggressive than on the other albums of the bands that play the same kind of music. That's clearly near of classic Death Metal, really violent, really loud and that 's a good point. This singularity should be developed in my opinion.

We only have four songs on this demo, but it's promising because the songs are all really catchy and it sounds professional. That's not a bad average try, Reprisal Scars is apparently a good band that know how to do good Death. But however, the band should be really careful, because it lacks of originality and I have to write reviews about such albums everyday? If it is easy to find a label when you play such music, it doesn't mean that all these bands are or will be killers? Don't forget to add your own personality to your compositions to give something a bit different than the others. It always pay?

This demo is honest, but unfortunately we have a lot of such new CDs and bands that play music in the spirit of Reprisal Scars. On one hand, I'm sure that it will be easy for them to find a deal with a label in reason of the good quality of "Evidence" and it will be the same with the fans. But on the other hand I really hope that Reprisal Scars will put some more originality and personality on their next release because one day, I think that the audience will have more than enough of Gothenburg Death and the band who knew how to do something original will win the jackpot...
