Grave are one of those overrated Death Metal bands, at least I think it so, I mean, they had their time and their 15 minutes of fame, then they disappeared from the map. After a few years and with all the reunions hype, they decided to records a new album ("Back From The Grave") which was taken by the media as a relatively good album, but nothing spectacular. Couple of years later, we have the second album after the reunion of the band, and I must say that this is, also, nothing spectacular.

Maybe these old geezers ran out of ideas, but I sense that the mid paced Death metal displayed in the album is something I heard before a billion times.. but hey, don't be fooled by that, maybe I like my Death Metal always the same, maybe not, and that's the point, you can't always grab everyone's attention with a new album, some people will like it, some people don't, as easy as that.

But that doesn't take away the fact that these guys know what they're doing, musicianship is flawless as always, creativity, well, that's a dubious factor, the production is kinda murky is you ask me, but serves the purpose of the album I think, cover art, well, I don't like it a bit, I think using Jesus in any cover art is pretty washed out, and I'm tired to see the poor Jesus Christ hanging in every Metal cover art, the same goes for the devil, inverted crosses, pentagrams, skulls etc etc. please, STOP.

The album has some good songs like the mid paced opener "Last Journey" the groovy "Trial By Fire" and the catchy yet aggressive "Heretic", more songs like those would have been great, but instead we have a lot of mid-paced songs with almost no catchiness in them.
Yes, the album is quite boring at times, and I think there's way better albums from the Swedish combo, so if you are new these guys, check out their back discography, if you're an old time fan, chances are that you already have this, so.. err, hope you enjoy this boring album.
