Thanks for the Die Berge rec, corrupt - really enjoying this.
18:56 - corruptYeah languages are so easy to forget when you don't use them. Latin is a strong foundation though. And once you learn one Romance language, you kinda know them all anyway ^^
18:54 - VellichorNice that’s a good range. I only speak English fluently, but Latin helps a lot with learning Romance languages and I have learned Spanish and French a little as well but now I haven’t tried with any in ten years so I forgot
18:28 - corruptI'll pick up Mandarin sooner or later. I have a lot of chinese-speaking friends in Singapore still and want to get into the culture more. It's just really intimidating to start with.
18:26 - corruptI did learn Japanese for a while but lost my motivation when it came time to learn Kanji. Can still read hiragana. I can read and write Hindi and speak it a little but lack vocabulary and confidence for an actual conversation.
18:24 - corruptFluently speak only German and English. I used to be conversational in French and Spanish but decades of neglecting that leaves me with little more than the ability to recognize words.
18:22 - no oneDefinitely can't loose indigenous languages like maori, it's a massive part of what has kept the culture alive after it just about being stamped out.
