A work in progress, the bands & albums I discover and enjoy (from this subgenre that is) will be added.
There were a few more bands but they're progressive power metal or I don't think they're power metal (like Morgana Lefay).

Keep calm and go kill the dragon!

Thanks for commenting.
Sure you can suggest bands, i'll tell you which ones I know, I might even discover a band or two.
A very hit and miss subgenre for me. Fair warning.

Alot of bands here I enjoy listening too, the obvious one's being Blind Guardian, from debut to Nightfall, and early Helloween stuff. I've recently been getting into Masterplan, and Stratovarius, but there is quite a few bands here I'm not that familiar with, I will have to check some of them out

I'm also not the biggest fan of euro power metal, at least not the kind with lots of synth melodies, heavy symphonic/ neo-classical elements and lyrics about rainbows and unicorns but still there's lot of great bands in the genre. I like probably 2/3 of the bands in your list. Some recommendations:

Crystal Eyes (Dead City Dreaming, Killer)
Tarot (To Live Again, For The Glory Of Nothing)
Domain (Last Days Of Utopia)
Iron Savior (Unification, Battering Ram)
Labyrinth (Return to Heaven Denied, s/t)
Lost Horizon (both records)

No, I'm not into those, maybe Tarot is tolerable. I thought they were just a heavy metal band.

It's such a thin line between heavy metal and power metal in some cases so I could categorise them either way

Hi,
There are plenty of groups i like here and some i don't even know like "mob rules" and most of the end of your liste (apart from serenity and beast in black).
Do you know dreamtale ( try the 1rst album, difference, world changes forever), freedom call (crystal empire, eternity, beyond) and nocturnal rites (many good albums tales, shadowland, grand illusion, 8th sin) ? According to your list you could like them i guess. Nice list !

I know all those bands, I might give Nocturnal Rites another chance, but the others are too cheesy for me, especially Freedom Call.

Lost Horizon has started to grow on me, the great vocals help here, I wouldn't have bothered if the vocals weren't so special (for lack of a better word).

I'm in the mood for a bit of Euro-power metal, so I've already listened to the first two Secret Sphere albums and i found myself having fun doing that. I will give Labyrinth another chance to see if i can enjoy them these days.

I know Dream Evil, I found them cringy at some point, I don't know whether I should give them another chance. Maybe if i have the time for it, but i doubt I'll like them these days.

At least with Labyrinth, i did enjoy a few of their albums in the past. I'm listening to their debut album right now and i think it's quite good. I still need a special mood for this band, I don't remember which of their album i considered a dud, i know they have a terrible one at least.

All the bands you mention in your post are classified as 'power metal" on MS as well.

No USPM in this list, i made a different list for that. You can check it out if you want to.

Not always ms classify genre right, its hevay metal, same as Grave Digger because non sounds as Helloween or Freedom Call
