Your best list to date, because for once you acknowledge this is your personal taste and not a guide.
Congrats. You're becoming less pretentious. |

Weird, I guess since the demo was released before the full-length it links to that instead. And I don't think there's any way to manually insert the album ID. Guess you're stuck with the link the way it is then. :/ |

It also happens in Joe's 2000-onwards list. And there's also Infestus's E x | I s t bug. Just to inform you since you're a staff member. |

If anyone needs to be informed of these problems, it's Ivan (since he's the programmer).
He was made aware of the Infestus issue, but nothing took place. I doubt anything would be done in regards to the "same name" issue here, but you can always send him a PM and see what happens. |

I've listened to a few songs off OM some time ago. I'm planning to listen to the whole album soon.
And thanks. |

"I'll spit this out too: Not my thing. This album is full of creativity, but honestly, a fully improvised album is not my thing. I can't bear too much quirkiness."
Then why is it in the list? |

It's good, but I don't think I've still "gotten" it fully. It serves as good ambient though. |

Sick list man! Some really good picks in here
Might wanna check out Oranssi Pazuzu as well... they're more psychedelic black metal than atmospheric (kinda like Nachtmystium), but definitely worth a peek. |

You can fix this problem by adding the Lurker of Chalice LP to your wishlist and then using the "Import from Collection" feature instead of simply writing Lurker of Chalice - Lurker of Chalice.
OOPS. Actually that does not work as well. |

Mainly Dordeduh's EP. Actually Dordeduh was formed by two members of Negura Bunget after the band split.
Negura Bunget kinda have their own sound IMO, but you can always try out Drudkh and Wodensthrone.
Thanks for the thumb-up. |

Altar Of Plagues, Agalloch, Arckanum, Austere, BAN, Burzum, Deafheaven, Drudkh, Gris, Infestus, Nargaroth, Urfaust, Ulver, WiTTR, Woods Of Desolation. You can also put Fell Voices and Ash Borer in that list, they play pure Black Metal but their music is really atmospheric which I guess is why many get confused about the genre.
Anyway, just read your description "The descriptions aren't necessarily descriptions of the music. " so yeah, your list is very good.
Not saying it's a wrong list, but many fans get confused between Atmospheric BM with other genres. Take Gris and WoD for instance. Rich haunting atmosphere in their songs but they're actually Depressive BM.
No offense man, just my 2 cents. |

That's true, the list isn't strictly just what is called atmospheric. It also includes black/ambient, post-black, blackgaze....
Concerning Austere, WoD and Gris I think we can say that they play atmospheric/depressive BM. The others... IMO Altar Of Plagues, Agalloch, Older BaN, Deafheaven, Drudkh, Infestus, Ulver and Wittr have enough atmo BM qualities to make it to the list.
The ones that are definitely debatable are Arckanum, Burzum, Nargaroth and Urfaust. Probably old-school Bm with atmospheric orientations. |

No, not encyclopedia, and I insist on that. Troy can make an encyclopedia of Atmospheric Black Metal. Marcel can make a an encyclopedia of Doom. Joe can make an encyclopedia of quirky stuff. Those guys CAN and are QUALIFIED to do encyclopedias. Me, I just throw the albums I like in here.
As for Reverence, maybe you're right, they're more industrial than atmospheric. |

No, not encyclopedia, and I insist on that.
What I meant there is that I believe (but that's just my opinion) that a "favourite albums" list is, by essence, quite short, or at least not long. When looking at your list I feel like you added every single album from the genre you've listened to
But that's just the way I conceive it, and I'm sure I can deal with the fact that other people don't share my view of the thing
Moreover, lot of good albums in it |

Which is true, because this list include 7+ albums. Personally, an album with 7+ is to me enjoyable.
With more time and more listening to new stuff, I think I'll increase it to 8+. But ATM even the 7 (Falls Of Rauros, Murmmure I never got these guys, Krohm, Nachtmystium, Gris, Oak Pantheon, Reverorum Ib Malacht, Burzum and Wilds Forlorn) are IMO quite decent. |
