My Dying Bride, such a tragic/dramatic name for a band and the music could not be different, in the contrary, drama, mourning, poetry and death harmonize so beautifully together in the pieces of Art that My Dying Bride has offered to the world throughout the years.

One year after the magnificent "The Angel And The Dark River" My Dying Bride returned with another brilliant album, "Like Gods Of The Sun" and, truly, My Dying Bride on this album shine like gods of the sun. For the first time the band offers more and not so lengthy compositions, showing also how much they have matured as composers and players.

Classic! One of their very best albums!
"For My Fallen Angel" was actually the first MDB song I ever heard, not a metal track of course. But still very intriguing, very sad....It often makes me cry.

Great album! Which is a hell of alot more than what I have to say about the follow up to this CD

This is an almost perfect album.
It doesnt start off that convincingly in the first three songs, but after that it takes you.
A kiss to remember and For you are my fav songs here. I also have It will come and For my fallen angel on my top list.
This album is only topped by TLTS, in my opinion.
Lately, unfortunately MDB couldnt perfectly keep up this quality, but in my eyes they are still extremely good.

Probably my favorite in the "Aaron Doesn't Scream On These" series of albums. A gothic/doom classic for sure!

This is a very good album with somd fantastic songs, although it's a wee bit inconsistent overall.
I hate to admit it but I actually prefer the beauty and the beast style vocals more than just his clean vocals, if he was to use his harsh vocals on this aswel as his clean I think I might have found this album more to my liking.

This is MDB at their dare I say, most accessible but that doesn't take anything away from it! Plenty of killer songs and memorable parts, with my favorite being *that part* in A Kiss To Remember. I wish Aaron brought back the Beauty and the Beast approach but, we'd have to wait a bit longer for that. I think that Grace Unhearing is a fantastic song that I rarely ever see mentioned!

Now we're well into autumn I've been on what's becoming an annual MDB binge. I've still not taken to this album fully yet, there's some exceptional songs but others I don't really find that memorable, however, "A Kiss To Remember" has to be one of MDB's best ever songs, it's so beautifully dark and majestic, and that main riff is such a tasty earworm!

Yeah the highs are really high but half of the album is just duds sadly.
