Nuclear war has the most hypnotizing riff ever written.

A nice album if you like raw primitive thrash, Its hard to think that this is the same band that recorded Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross and the like.

Its an ok album, but many of the songs here fail to impress me or interest me. It's probably because i listened to their other 80's albums before this one, and as they are so different to one another musically, especially with their debut, fans of the more experimental side of voivod (like me) probably wouldn't like this album. Nonetheless, a few songs here do have their moments. Just not enough to keep the listener excited.

Totally run-of-the-mill thrash with no aspects that would stand out. I have managed to listen the album a few times, so I can confirm that it's not total dogshite of an album that expels the listener right away. Underwhelming nonetheless.

It's fun for a while, but I think it is too simple, I'm enjoying it less the more I listen to it. There are some creative ideas behind it but on the whole is mostly a mess, a fun noisy mess. 6.5 (Rounded to 7)

Well, I thought it was pretty good considering it’s a debut. The sound was clearly their own even from the beginning. Just not as original and thought-out like the following albums. Warriors of Ice is particularly fiesty!

I love the rawness of this album. Everything about War and Pain is gritty and in your face. Most modern thrash metal bands can only dream about sounding this hardcore.
