In 2021, Empyrium have the hindsight to slip back into being a dark folk band a bit more gracefully than in the 90s by not foregoing all the metal elements.

I agree that The Wild Swans is the highlight; had the album on in the background and noticed one song drawing me into the album, which turned out to be The Wild Swans

I dunno fellas, not gonna lie, this is my first time listening to this band, but the entire album sounded like a one trick pony style, kinda meh, kinda funny sometimes, but fine most of the time

Empyrium is one of a few bands that never disappoints me. Of course, this album isn't so good as Songs Of Moors And Misty Fields but still has outstanding tracks (#1, 2,3,6, and 8).

I was listening to EMPYRIUM from early days when they released the first album. What they brought afterwards was always a surprise for me. I appreciate the return but well it doesn't have the same magic as albums before. I mean yes, IT IS Empyrium but...
Oh and I hate Prophecy label marketing to put one song only to Deluxe big edition. I just hate this versions. Jewel cases are ok for me. If someone likes them that is ok for me BUT i feel like record label scam me! When I buy the album I want the complete recording not just something for my money! Why must I buy so much more expensive versions to have a complete album??This is so awful!!!! Please stop doing this! If you do, I will not support you. I'm still buying the CDs and supporting the bands but i hate this....

This is clearly superior to the first Empyrium records, which are still good, but mainly just because they were innovative. On this one they melt neofolk and metal together perfectly with 'über den sternen' being an orgasmic finale

The little single note interludes that are present in the midst of a song makes this album.

I'm a big fan of traditional/neofolk and metal, so having them together brings happiness to my ears!

Bad English

Between old n new, some BM parts, emeotions, neo folk, good balance between acoustic and electronic guitar what creates some folk sound. Album of the year in some way..... enjoyable think, once again Ulf Theodor Svanhörf is amazing lyricist, poet, artists and creator.

IMO the first two songs were the best ones, specially the second one. The album was very monotonic and mostly ordinary to me.
Also "blackened folk metal" is just wrong, maybe Neofolk or folk metal/rock ?

This band is so consistent and they haven't really put a foot wrong throughout their discography imo, and this album is no exception, it has a great atmosphere, with quality songwriting, and fantastic vocals as usual. However, "The Three Flames Sapphire", "A Lucid Tower Beckons On The Hills Afar", and "The Wild Swans" are the songs which stand-out for me most of all.
