I run a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game, specifically The Curse of Strahd, and the classical b-sides of this album are so fitting. Absolutely love it!

For the most part I found When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light to be more consistent and memorable, but three songs here blow that album away, namely: Keep Your Heart Safe From Me, All Hallows' Grieve, and This House Has No Home.

The production is excellent, the more frequent guitar solos are a nice touch, Cammie Gilbert was a great guest, and this album feels a little closer to their early to mid work on a writing level. But the rest of the songs besides the ones I mentioned are a little too average for my liking.

Maybe in a couple months it’ll click better, usually being in the heart of winter helps with their music.

Beautiful album, enjoying it just as much as the last album. Can't wait to see them live in London next year

Its an OK album by STS standards.
Lovely melodic Doom as always, not a masterpiece and not a letdown.
Solid 8 from me.

Generic, uninspired and forgettable, all the tracks feels the same. But I will give a credit for the last one "This House Has No Home", it's OK.

Heck, I don't even remember the last good album of them, New Moon perhaps?

I will check the classical version, maybe the redemption is there.

Death, despair, melancholy, Gloom, Doom,...........and beauty. I started very late with this genre but since then I am in love with bands like STS and Draconian. Moonflowers travels through all emotions required for a Doom metal album. Surely among my top 10 of 2021.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

I've had All Hallows' Grieve playing on repeat for like two weeks, love it! The rest of the album is good too though. As a whole, I'd say the record feels a lot more substantial than their previous with a lot more variation between the tracks. I'd say this album is a little faster and heavier too, but this is still Swallow the Sun we're talking about; it's still a slower pace, doomy, gloomy affair. I think the album is best enjoyed straight through for the most part as it does a great job of building an atmosphere as opposed to generating single-song hits.

Highlights: All Hallows' Grieve, Keep Your Heart Safe From Me, Woven into Sorrow

Elegant, emotional melancholy. Reminds me of Opeth in some parts.

I prefer fast music mixed with slower parts rather than slow music mixed with even slower parts
But I can respect this approach. Good music to fall asleep to

Not my favourite from them, but still a great album, especially with songs like 'This House Has No Home'.

Didn't like the last album at all. This one was kind of good with the right mixture of heavyness and melody. The songwriting is much better here.

This album is a grower. The first times I listened to it I wasn't convinced, but I have found myself replaying it over and over without being aware. This album feels a little more "atmosferic" than the previous, but still, it's a really solid piece of music.

These dudes have such total doom riffs that they beat Candlemass' best riffs ever. Unique musicians!

Swallow The Sun and Draconian are currently the best and freshest thing on the doom metal scene. A unique atmosphere and technique of creating music. High class musicians.
