Hard to think of a more eagerly anticipated grindcore album than this. Singapore's most famous metal export, one of grindcore's leading bands in the past decade, and a meme-worthy cover art all converge.

A good reflection on how heavy this album is going to be.

Incredible storm. This time Wormrot uses some elements of powerviolence and more melody... in some moments sounds like ACxDC

A punkish mad mix of multiple metal genre's, that's then been grinded down the old school way to be made into one crazy ass grindcore album! like it because unlike the majority of modern grindcore releases, this somehow still manages to sound fresh, whilst maintaining the old school brutality and songstructure madness of old.

Unfortunately I'm not quite digging the overall sound quality, this sounds too clean for me, it lacks that dirty grindcore production of old, and lacks that deep heavy bass and guitar tone, although there are plenty of ideas that keep this album sounding original.

The closing track "Glass Shards" is the clear highlight for me, that's a fantastic song, but imo the rest range from average to decent.

It's a good grind album, but the photos posted in this comment section are better. The hippo, especially.

I agree that the sound is a little too polished, but this is still a ripper. Very reminiscent on ACxDC at times (or vice versa).

No problem with the clean sound for me, if anything I prefer it because a weak production would muddy away the little nuances that the album has, like that sick violin in “Grieve”.

Listened again and I'm having a hard time getting past the production. It's very compressed. Unfortunate as everything else about the album is fantastic.

I'm surprised to see this isn't a common complaint but it's one I share with you. I don't know who mastered this (all I can find out about production credits is that it was recorded and mixed at Snakeweed Studios) but the mastering is terrible. I understand it's a difficult balance, because you either compress the shit out of it like this or you have that wall of sound approach if you go too far the other way, but music like this needs to be allowed to breathe. Listening to them play this live in some small warehouse or bar basement where the acoustics create that intimate dampening echo effect would be fucking intense.
