Consistency can be a double edged sword. Sacrificing curious excitement for safe quality assurance. You probably don't need this review, or even to actually listen to this album, to know that the new Revocation is good. But it is this consistency that is likely the reason why Netherheaven is graced by a posthumous Trevor Strnad performance.

This is just outstanding, really technical but also very nice melody. It's really hard to keep my entertained throughout a death metal record, but this is one is exciting in every song. Really solid comeback!

I've been wanting to get into Revocation for a long time now, but felt like their sound was missing a little something.

These last two albums have really hit that sweet spot of melodic and groovy that I'm always looking for. Might bump this up to a 9...who knows the future...not me...

This is a decent record, it has some solid riffs, decent vocals, and solid songstructures and has a fine production too. It's nothing particularly memorable but at the same time there's nothing to dislike about it either imo.

Don't love the snare sound but love the record, will probably go up to an 8 in time, only 4 spins so far.

It seems like they added some black metal elements to their sound on this album. I really like it.

It seems like they added some black metal elements to their sound on this album. I really like it.

If you're comparing with The Outer Ones I disagree, they took some out and made it more straight up death metal. But if you're comparing with their older stuff like circa 2013 then definitely.

"Godforsaken" is definitely my favorite. Really groovy riff through out the song that has had me listening to it on repeat a lot.

I was expecting a overtly technical musical output but this is quite groovy as well. Very quality death metal.
