False Constellation really got me to listen the band. New album didn't disappoint!

Solid first listen, but doesn't immediately take me like the last two did; will give it plenty more spins though. False Constellation stands out as the best song on first listen, like them bringing the plinky-plonk piano back in

I didn't pay much attention to previous albums before but I have been listening them a lot while waiting for this new album. I think their music have gotten quite a bit softer but it works for me. Another stand out song on this album is The Cattle Thief.

It's taken me a few spins to really get into this, at first I was left feeling a wee bit unimpressed by the songwriting, but it's definitely grown on me. There's definitely something atmospheric about it, and I never originally picked up on that, as I was mainly concentrating on the riffs and left thinking is that all.
It's the softer Spaghetti Western parts that really make it for me, the end of "The Cattle Thief", and "Reaper On The Oilfields" for instance, but the track that stands out the most overall for me is "False Constellation".

Not too keen on western black metal in general, I appreciate the crossover though. At least it's better than Duelist.

I don't think Duelist even merit being mentioned in the same breath as Wayfarer, really; Wayfarer have been making unique and stellar material for over a decade, while the most that Duelist have going for them is an eye-catching album title. This album also feels much less blackened than their previous releases, for better and worse

I’ve never heard about these guys. I’m only at the first song, and I’m blown away. I have a feeling that this might up ending up being one of my favorite releases of this year. I’ve always been a fan of swamp rock and blues, so to hear it mix that well with black metal is really something to me. I already listen to Zeal & Ardor and I’m really fond of his music. This is a bit different though. Wayfarer seems to be focusing alot more on atmosphere, and I really dig that.

I like , starts like abm band, later ''western'' black metal, now somehow they are like Arthur Morgan, road new Saint Denis . I mean New Orleans, more east, it has some gothic touches. I enjoy this one, higher values as I see now.

This is incredibly good, didn't think they'd be able to keep going up from A Romance... but they did. "A Cattle Thief" is fucking awesome.
I guess if I have one complaint, it's that they didn't use this as a cover art since the album is called "American Gothic:"

At first I very much liked their last release better and thought this was a definite downgrade, then as I spun this more and more I liked the fact that it's softer and easier to listen to. I feel that I'd want to see their old album live, and this one makes for better work background music, both have their place. So I'm a bit torn between a 8 and 9, leaning towards 8, but still it's a great album and a def listen. "The Cattle Thief" is my jam.

This is a long way better blended gothic with metal than any of the Unto Others' efforts, a band a bit overestimated in my opinion. This sure should be in the top albums list of the year. I find it even better than its famous predecessor.

This band has grown on me substantially of late, and I'm now convinced 100% that this is their best release to date.

Lovely lyricism throughout, their lamentations are palpable. The music itself took me by surprise, the metal is very very subdued allowing other elements of their music to flourish more.
