Ulcerate’s formula of dissonant, highly technical and atmospheric death metal remains pretty much unchanged. Not like it matters if the results continue to be this engaging.

As much as I liked previous album I cant find my way into this one. After quite a few spins I find it monotonous and bit boring. I think I will take a few weeks break from it and try again in August or September

I still don’t get the big deal with this band.

I do, they're skillful and quite authentic. Problem with them is, that they've got their style and pretty much nothing else, so it all sounds the same. So it's take it or leave it.

I still don’t get the big deal with this band.

Because you aren't aware of the band.

Listen to all their albums and rethink about your post.

I don't blame you for being naive. You're young and uninformed. Ulcerate is far beyond more than you can comprehend right now. It's tough to get into it.

Damn, bro. Don't gotta be a dick just cause your favorite band isn't as great as you think it is.

I wouldn't qualify myself to call Ulcerate my "favorite band", lest a fan of the band to what so far I've heard from them. It's fucking amazing.

They've landed themselves in a niche corner of the death metal sphere. Nothing we haven't heard before from these guys. Certainly still worth listening to.

What an exceptional release this is... This album stands as a testament to the band’s ability to push the boundaries of death metal, creating a work that is as intellectually engaging as it is sonically devastating. The album’s intricate compositions and technical prowess are matched by its innovative approach to the genre, making it a standout release that will undoubtedly influence future generations of extreme metal musicians.

Well, AOTY for me. This came after numerous spins, and listening to Ulcerate takes time to digest.

This is 4th record of Ulcerate I'm listening to, starting with The Destroyers Of All, Vermis, Stare into Death..., and this.

It's a mysteriously immersive dissonant death metal that captivates me in this hauntingly hypnotic adventure that I've earlier loved in their records. This is absolute top-notch surreal experience this trio of New Zealanders exudes to us, the best record of 2024.

I don't seem too enjoy this album quite as much as I did "Stare Into Death and Be Still", but still a great album.
Ulcerate delivers their usual blend of post- and technical death metal which they blend perfectly together.
Makes me think it will be a great recommendation for any Gojira fans out there who'd like something similar but different!

This is the first album of theirs that I actually enjoyed despite giving almost each of their albums a fair try. Can anyone enlighten me if they actually did anything different? I don't listen to much metal lately (or music in general for that matter) so I'm surprised this band has finally clicked for me. Either my taste has changed or they changed.

It isn't very different from their previous one, but both of these have been moodier than their usual stuff. If you checked that one and it didn't click with you, maybe you changed and no longer suffer from metal music saturation.
