Great album. I love this era of Tristania, and find Ashes & Illumination a great combination to listen to.

Good music approach, liked this style, but for songwriting this doesn't reserve much... although "equilibrium" and "shadowman" are two great tracks!

I love this album... its style and Vibeke's voice are just magical. By the way, it's really underrated if you ask me.

While Beyond the Veil is always going to be the magnum opus of Tristania, Ashes might be thematicaly my favourite album by them. It is just something about the sound and the atmosphere of it that truly captures. While it's still gothic metal and all, it sounds modern and not full of cliches. Underrated desolation at its best.
