Christians are usually obsessed with when the world will end and some even claim that there are already signs showing that this is the end of days. Thinking about the apocalypse and the second coming of Christ had me stuck in 6 months of deep thought as to what album would best represent the end of days and could serve as a soundtrack to the apocalypse. Ladies and gentlemen, In The Rectory Of The Bizarre Reverend is the perfect soundtrack to the end of days. I can now safely join Christian eschatological discussions and point to this album as the harbinger of the second coming of Christ. I am actually surprised that Christ has resisted coming 17 years after this soundtrack to His second coming was released.

Got Mayhem?
Essentially the pure essence of traditional doom in a convenient 6 track form. Absolutely crushing and nostalgic in sound. I'm very surprised this isn't more known.

Maybe Ahab were listening to the last song "Cirith Ungol" when they wrote The Pacific, The intro's are very similar.

Another one of those flawless records. Reverend Bizarre was high quality band all around with at least dozen worthy releases, but this one will always be their magnum opus. Re-release with nearly as amazing bonus disc is at least as stellar as the original. My only complaint here is, that this type of slow and heavy doom metal isn't really fun to listen to while driving a car, like I usually do. But that's just me and my way of doing things. Still one of the greatest metal records of the new millenium.

Many of the songs here had moments that were too long and sadly boring for my liking. I did enjoy "Burn in Hell", "Doomsower", and the Nazgul-POV of "Cirith Ungol" though
