'eaten back to life' is often regarded as one of the best death metal albums of all time. At its time of release it was one of the most brutal albums of all time and even 14 years on, it's still pretty extreme. Also, this is one of the first albums to play death metal as something completely separate to thrash so it's an important album in the history of extreme metal. There's 2 or 3 fillers that bring this album down a bit, but when it's good, it's great! The album sounds very much like some very unpleasant B-movie in musical form, and never more so than on "Shredded Humans". Which is my fave CC song, and an amazing way to kick off the album! It's a little too patchy to be a classic, but in it's best moments, it's primal and visceral death/thrash at it's finest. xD

I have just listened to this album, time changes everything...it might be good in 1990, but it definitely sounds very amatuerish in 2014. I am confused...CC sounds more like Brutal Death Metal rather than Death Metal !

Of course, I guess it's brutal in the word's original sense. EBTL is very catchy compared to the albums that come after it!

It's been some time for me, but I don't recall ever thinking this was "brutal" in the sense of the term "brutal death metal". I'll have to revisit it to be sure before I comment further...

I found this album kind of bland compared to other releases by them, it still had some significance to the early stages of the brutal death metal scene, there is a few good songs, like A skull full of maggots, but there is too many average one's for me, still a good effort for their debut tho imo.

I don't understand why people make so big number out of Kardashians wearing metal shirts. If I had a band I would definitely want them to wear the damn shirts just for the free publicity alone.

While I would have taken most other imaginable shirts, such as Metallica, Sabbath, Slayer, more or less unnoticed I guess, seeing the CC debut there kind of made me smile. That is why I posted it.
