An excellent album, and one that improved upon the sometimes depressing overtones of the band's debut. The album's two successful singles, the mezmerizing opener 'My own Summer (Shove it)' and semi-melancholic tune 'Be quiet and Drive (far away)' are worth the money for this album alone in my opinion.

Deftones are one of the minor Nu Metal bands which impress me. Around the fur is a great album and fun to listen.:banger:

I was expecting this joke, anyway

Having been listening to Deftones heavily for the past few days. I enjoy this record much much more than White Pony. That album seems to be too much leaning on the nu metal side for me par the track 'Elite' which is really good. Seems I prefer this to White Pony on any day.

Best Nu metal album ever probably?

Another quite impressive record, lot's of groove to this, aswel as a quality sound, although I didn't find this to be as consistent as the debut, the songwriting is more varied, and there are still some great moments. "Be Quiet & Drive" and "Headup" are stand outs for me. Overall I slightly prefer the debut over this, but It's still head and shoulders above anything I heard nu/alternative metal bands release during that time.

I can't help it, this album is just so good. If this counts as nu metal, then I think it's one of the best the genre has to offer.
