Wow! What a step forward Cannibal Corpse has made! Synthed orchestras, accordion, even some female operatic segments thrown in! This is clearly the dawn of a new era for this band, reinventing themselves into something far more intricate, dynamic and delicate than we've seen from them - or metal in general - for ages.

Was on the verge of rating this an 8. Deserves around 7.3 to 7.6. The most enjoyable Cannibal Corpse album out of the ones I've listened to.

I used to read different comments concerning this album. In many cases the same idea was that the listeners have not found any fresh ideas... Shit! This is death metal! What the f***ing new ideas they wanted to hear?! Old sschool death metal is back! And it's awesome!!!

For those who said Cannibal Corpse and Asphyx shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Torture >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Deathhammer

(just for the sake of it. also I like this one 10x better than Deathhammer)

I can't call myself a fan of either band, but Torture can't even touch Deathhammer in terms of quality, even if Torture is the only good CC album since the Bleeding.

Cannibal Corpse at their best don't even match up to Asphyx at their worst.

I'm not that fan of Asphyx (or even Cannibal Corpse), I know some albums/songs and I enjoy most of them, but the production of Deathhammer was too much to me. Otherwise it'ld sound much better, who knows if better than Torture

Quality brutal riffs but also quite catchy, one of their best for sure. The lyrics are just as sick as ever, and there are a few top quality songs such as "Scourge of Iron", "Intestinal Crank", and "Caged... Contorted", although there are no tracks I genuinely dislike, which makes this one of their most consistent imo.
