Unholy Darkthrone was upon us again back in 1995 with their fifth release now on new label Moonfog under the watching eye of Satyricon-man Sigurd Wongraven, the band released a very anticipated album called Panzerfaust a.k.a. 'Tank-fist'. For people who liked their old productions won't be disappointed because Nocturno Culto, Zephyrous and Fenriz succeeded again to create that kind a music where black metal is just all about.

Move over Operstion Mindcrime:II, Panzerfaust is the new worst album in my cd collection.

I love this album, the vocals are obnoxious at first, but then you get used to it. Very catchy, sinister riffs also

Good album but compared to its predecessors it isn't all that impressive. There's quite a lot of Celtic Frost influence here, most notably on 'The hordes of Nebulah' and 'Beholding the throne of might'. The faster paced songs are basically standard Black Metal Darkthrone, whereas the vocals, although unsurprising given that it's a black metal album, really don't do anything for me. All in all a good album for those who love Darkthrone, not so for those who haven't listened to the band before.

Most people don't really like this album because the vocals are weird, but I think they suit the music. I especially like them on The Hordes Of Nebulah

vocals are weird, pain in ears, but music I nice, but I don't think any other vocals would work here

What the fuck happened here... great songwriting ruined by the worst drunk-ass vocal performance I think I've ever heard in metal.

Finally, someone I can agree with.

Great album, the vocals are high in the mix but very raw and agressive so it still works on the old BM formula. the riffing is great as always. some songs have a slow tempo which marks a difference from the last album. overall Panzerfaust it´s more varied but the quality is all here.

I'll never understand the mixing decision in regards to the vocals. Sure, they're stylistically different compared to the norm, but at least if they were somewhat lowered to stifle their abrasiveness, the music could overshadow their delivery. Instead, they obnoxiously overtake everything else surrounding them, which is an unfortunate result as the music is on par with some of the best black metal of its era.

My favorite Darkthrone record. I agree that the vocals are probably mixed too loud, but it's kind of grown on my over the years and easily sets it apart from the other records they have in a good way.
