Glad to see you included Sventevith with Behemoth, although I would put it in top. I love Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde, but wouldn't call it black metal.

Has more BM than the latest Alcest has. I think we can agree on this.

As for Sventevith, I am fond of it as a raw BM album, but other than lets say, the top 10, there is no real order. I included what I like, and I like all of them equally. Anyway, I simply cannot put in on top because it was not innovative for the genre when it came out. Grom was Behemoth's best BM album because it showed slight experimentation and variation. IMO, few can beat Mayhem's debut. Haven't heard a band that could replicate the atmosphere or the song writing on this one. By listening Freeking Moon, Funeral Fog or Pagan Moon you feel that this is Mayhem's signature sound.

Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde doesn't have enough BM in it to be labelled as such, in my opinion. I'd call it a Shoegaze/Post album. The follow-up albums do have much more BM, with the exception of Shelter of course.

Anyway, just noticed you don't have Limbonic Art here. The first two albums are absolutely essential for a list like this. I used to really prefer In Abhorrence Dementia, but the debut is growing on me. Suffice to say, both are brilliant.

Now don't those albums covers look inviting? Listen to them and add them... don't make me regret the +1 I gave you for this list. Oh, and Mayhem's debut is a nice choice for the #1 spot, I definitely agree with that.

Actually I know those records but I forgot to add them. Thanks for reminding me though. The first two Limbonic Art albums are great ones.

It seems you prefer the debut, that's interesting. Right now I can't say which of the two is my favourite. I just think both albums are awesome.
