This is better than "The Horror", which was good but THIS is a masterpiece for death, black or prog metal. Whatever you wanna call it, labels really don't matter. It's good to see a band that doesn't care to conform to a single sub genre. I saw them with In Solitude and Watain earlier in the month and I can say with full confidence that these guys KILL live. Along with the aforementioned In Solitude, these guys are the best new band going. I hope to see them again in the future.

This needs to be relabeled as progressive black metal or extreme progressive metal, the genre's as simple as that. There's hardly any death metal here.

I agree with the label extreme progressive metal, there is some black, but not that much.

As i listen to this album it tends to sound like the death metal version of Antichrist's "Forbidden World"... it surely has some interesting moments, it's just the production is not so good and so i have to listen to the album really carefully each time...

I've only recently have understood the importance and briliance of this and new Morbus Chron. Hopefully, these two will start a new trend in modern extreme metal.

Not doing anything for me. Gave up before the last three songs because I really didn't want to go through any more of it.

Well final opinion: this is awesome! it would easily be a masterpiece if it didnt have so much "dead time" (interludes etc)... spectres and wanderer in the darkness are awesome songs! so do almost all the others (exept the boring suspiria de profundis)

Over the moon these guys were announced for Temples. They've gone all out for amazing death metal this year. Hopefully they'll play a lot off this record. Easily in the top 3 deathy albums of the last few years.

Well fuck this has grown on me like hell. I've been revisiting stuff from a few years ago and I'm very pleased to have gone back to Tribulation. Moving on to their 2015 release now and I'm adequately pumped.

This is one of those moments in which I look back at younger Alex and feel nothing but shame. I just got through Melancholia on TGotN and I could not be more impressed. This is like Christmas for death metal right now.

I also had a similar situation with this record tbh. Initially was not much impressed. Only after Morbus Chron I looked back at this and was blown away.
Still not heard the new record

I great album indeed but i still dont love it enough to pump it to a 9. Would definitely give it a 8,5 if .5 existed though.

Took me a very long time to warm up to this album. Great riffs, production, and songwriting, but it would have benefited from being shorter. I do have to give props to this band for their experimentation.

Does every jewel case have a carton wrapper or just limited edition? I'm pissed, since I got it second hand but now, I see, it is available as brand-new slipcase with microscopically higher price. Life is not fair :'(

He probably means The Wild Hunt. Although regardless of any similarity with Watain, I'd still suggest you to check the hell out of this album!!

I do love this Tribulation album and the next one, the latest one is a hit and miss for me. Anyway my memory of the only Watain album I heard which is The Wild Hunt is that it was a mess. That's why I wanted to check which of their albums is similar to Tribulation.

Lawless Darkness, and a little bit of The Wild Hunt.

Both albums are great.

Obviously this is a great album, it's Tribulation after all. The guitar tone on this record is exceptional, the lead guitar work is especially brilliant, and there's definitely a sinister edge to it. The only real downside for me is the overall length, I think they could have trimmed a few sections down a wee bit tbh.

I was playing this last night in full swing, and in the morning(Indian Standard Time) I get to know that new Tribulation coming up next month. It will be hard to compete with this gem. One of the best albums from Tribulation camp.
