Same here, i listened to the album at a friends place.

The music is great, but i can't stand the voice...

I have been a fan of Mercenary since 'Everblack', and although the days of '11 Dreams' and 'Hours that Remain' are gone, I did like 'Metamorphosis' and 'Through Our Darkest Days'... I don't think they will ever be as heavy and as dark as they use to be, but damn, I thought there are some seriously great vocal moments on this album, namely the ending to Dreamstate Machine... IDK, I really dug this release...

This is my first experience with Mercenary.
I like it a lot so far I'll give it some more thoughts when I finish listening.

Dude check out '11 Dreams'

Its a real grower, first few listens had me hooked. A really good album, tho' not as good as past offerings. Nice surprise tho' after the mediocre Metamorphasis.

I find I like 'Metamorphasis' and 'Through Our Darkest Days' more by knowing this is a different kind of Mercenary.

Okay, this is perhaps the most disappointing record of the year. If I was looking for emo-shit, I would listen to HIM.

Huh, disappointed is one thing but this isn't even similiar to emo .

Yeah, pehaps you're right. Emo might be the wrong word, but all those sickeningly sweet choruses etc. got me so turned off, I wrote that comment in despair. It felt a lot like the song "The Harlot and the Beast" by A7X with that horrible chorus. Perhaps it should be named Sugar Metal.

Also, I feel like I wronged HIM a bit. They're not nearly as awful as this hideous thing, and they have some nice tunes here and there.

So does this. Beyond This Night is a pretty dope song, though that was the only one that stood out for me. I am mostly indifferent towards this, the cleans in some places did annoy me but otherwise was listenable. Not on par with Everblack though.
