For those unfamiliar with the might of Nadja, let me give you a quick rundown. Aidan Baker makes more music than everyone except Senmuth. Most of it is shapeless ambient and drone that is nothing short of breathtaking, and the band has experimented with different artists, styles, and techniques that would seem unorthodox even to the most steadfast heathen. Four tracks, slightly over 40 minutes long. In this case, that means that we're dealing with some master crafters of pure, drony goodness. If you're familiar with Nadja and the ten thousand releases that make up their discography, you know the dilly by now: slow, monontonous doom, but also with a hidden sense of dreamlike melody that hints at many great things lurking beneath, and muddled vocals that create even more of an otherworldly vibe. Really nice. Loud, but soft. Drums add a slight industrial vibe. Another great release.

I don't have much experience with the genre, but do most drone fans actually consider this release to be ambient drone? As far as drone goes, I'm probably most acquainted with Sunn O))), and in comparison this is a lot faster and built on actual riffs and obvious melodies rather than the single sustained notes and chords I've heard in the few SunnO))) tracks I attempted to listen to. If anything, the first song is almost beginning to approach post-/gaze territory to me. I'm just curious, because I can't remember liking anything much classed as drone outside of The Invisible Mountain, but I rather like this album.
