Keeper Pt.1" was the first HELLOWEEN-album with Michael Kiske on the vocal helm. The first two earlier releases the self-titled EP in 1985 and "Walls of Jericho" in 1986 were a style resulted form a combination between Metallica and Iron Maiden but it's on this album that their songwriting appears to be progressed and matured, and they take an important step in their musical career and with this album they bring a new genre to the metal scene: POWER METAL.

And I have to say the extended version of Victim of Fate on this album is absolutely stunning!

No such song exists on my original pressing of this fine, fine album.

Superior in every way imaginable from the intolerable shitfest that is Part II.

I'm lucky enough to have the extended version, this is proberbly my 2nd favourte Helloween album (so far), slightly behind of Walls Of Jericho. I will eventually listen to part 2 in full.

So much better than Walls of Jericho!

And better than part II imo, though there is a divided opinion in that one.

Groundbreaking album for the european power metal. I've never liked Twilight of the Gods or A Tale That Wasn't Right and with that we're only left with four actual tracks. Those four on the other hand are all classics.

I like Twilight of the Gods. Nothing wrong with it.

A Tale That Wasn't Right is rather cheesy, inoffensive ballad. Nothing cringy though.

None of those are crinqy but A Tale That Wasn't Right is one of those ballads that just seems to be there without a purpose. I can't pinpoint anything wrong with Twilight of the Gods but for some reason it never stuck with me and I often skip it when listening to the record. Haven't changed throughout the years.

Previous EP and LP was amazing, but this one raised the bar even higher! Speed, energy and great solos - it's all here, but now songs has this awesome catchy choruses and Michael Kiske's vocal is a cherry on top. And so, European style of Power Metal has officialy born! Most beloved songs: "A Little Time", "Future World", "I'm Alive" and epic "Halloween".

I don't think it's as good as Walls Of Jericho, in fact I don't think anything Helloween did after came close to the self-titled EP and Woj, but I have to admit that there are great tracks here, there are no boring songs, all the tracks are enjoyable. Kiske's vocals are good, but Hansen's style was much coolest, Kiske's version of Starlight and Victim of Fate for me are much inferior to the originals, and the evil laugh in Kiske's version of Victim of Fate is extremely lame.
Highlights for me are the songs I'm Alive, Future World and Halloween.
