The consequences of overhyping.

I wasn't even impressed with the supposedly great demo so I'm not even gonna bother.

Not as readily "accessible" as their debut, but by the second and third listen I was hooked. Somewhere between the ugly, but catchy, hooks of Lord Mantis and harrowing, technical death of Ulcerate. This is Portal trying to write a pop song. Stellar drumming with plenty of sudden changes, bending and discordant guitar, guttural death howls and blackened retches. This is good stuff, so give it a couple spins before making a decision. If it takes more than four of this short EP and you still don't dig it, more probably won't change your mind.

Yeah

Malthusian has more in common with Swedish old school than Behemoth, albeit not much

Maybe its not Behemot riå off , still there was no clear one of directions, mix between both genres and hardly hear vocals

Too much of meandering. The actual riffing, when they finally appear, is not as effective. These guys seriously dropped the balls on this.

I'm totally with you on the drop in quality, however I still managed to enjoy this to at least a slight degree. It's a good EP, but it can't even touch their demo, which was brilliance incarnate

Eugh... what did you guys do? This is terrible and I'm not even sure why. I have to assume that this band saw that the tide was shifting within DM and thought they had to move with it to become something a bit more left-field and modern. It's a tuneless dirge, and a most ham-fisted attempt at sounding off-kilter. It's like Diskord or Baring Teeth gone wrong. Dissonance is an art. This is a child's drawing on a fridge. Let down.

Seems like I'm the only one who actually enjoys this one, I've revisited it quite often since its release and still I don't get why people talk shit about it.
