Kalmah's second album, released in 2001, is appropriately named "They Will Return" because Kalmah did return, bringing with them more amazing melodic death metal. "They Will Return" is loaded with speed, awesome riffs, solos and of course, the band's unique reptilian vocals. The intro song "Hollow Heart" reflects the band's swamp theme, with splashing, footprint sounds that fade into guitar riffs. The song launches quickly into a fast paced, melodic song with more melody from the keyboards and drums that flow with the song. The album's title song "They Will Return" starts off with a mini drum solo, and brings some more speed and flowing guitar melodies and solos. Read more ›› |

This album is Great! Kalmah's 2nd best album IMO, better than Swamplord, yet not as good as Swampsong. And also the song "The Blind Leader" has got the most intense fast paced high energy solo in History!! Be shure to check out that song!!!

Great album, better then their first in my opinion, but the Skin O' My Teeth, not only is a pretty weak cover but doesn't feat well at all with the rest of the album

This is a wonderfully made album, I always preferred it to the debut. This band always strived for a more epically melodic approach to C.O.B. always adding a folkish vibe to things. I'm not sure if I would say Kalmah are overall better than C.O.B. but I certainly found them more interesting to listen to.

The title track from this album is so incredible after all these years. It still excites me so much with the main melody on the verses and that fucking solos is hmmmm * chef's kiss *

I think this is where they peaked. I remember my cousin introducing me to this album when it was new and my mind was blown instantly. It's more or less the same as the debut, but with better production, tighter riffs, etc. Everything here is better, and the debut is also a great album.
