Biography
Oestre formed in 2003 with the purpose of creating original and innovative music, mixing modern metal (e.g. Meshuggah, Textures) with electronic music. The use of oppressive samples facilitated the development of a dark and discomforting atmosphere in their music. Since their formation, the group has graced the stage alongside Gojira, Lofofora, Textures, Eth and Hacride to name a few.
Following the release of their second album Catharsis in 2012 through Asylum Ruins, the band entered a brief hiatus owing to a complete line-up change. Oestre has returned with a renewed style, combining math metal, drum and bass, and ambient. Their third album entitled La Dernière Renaissance was released on 18/1/14 - "Atomic Light" being the first single taken off the album. Having shared the stage with bands like LizZard and Algorithm, the group endeavors to extend their reach to new heights.
