Fleshcut - Biography

This band's profile is 'invisible', meaning that it's much less prominent on the site - either because it's incomplete, or maybe doesn't entirely fit MS format.

Biography

Fleshcut started out in the summer of 2006 by Padde Holmgren (drums), Pate Lundberg (vocals) and Jimmy Sandberg (guitar). It was supposed to be a grind band, but it were mostly just talking and nothing really happened. Jimmy jumped off the wagon and André Nilsson (guitar) joined. They decided that they would play primitive old-school influenced death metal instead and for that they needed another guitarist, who came to be Slurge. The first rehearsal didn't take place until the beginning of 2007 because because beer and weed seemed more important than to actually play at first, and the first song ("Disfigured By Chainsaw") were done in a couple of rehearsals. They now wanted a bass player aswell, so Jimmy Sanberg tried out a couple of times but it eventually came to be Roy Ravald who became the first official bass player for the band. Roy only played with the band for a month before he quit and got replaced by Jarlau Vurl Wiahl. Some songs were made and a couple of local gigs were played with local partners in crime Splattered Mermaids (who'd already made a name of themselves) among others. Fleshcut also opened 2007's Armageddon Open Air that summer, that also had bands like Visceral Bleeding, My Own Grave, Altair and Entombed (one of Fleshcut's biggest influences) on the bill. 6 of the songs were recorded with Andreas Lundberg for the EP "Machine Driven Crushing". Before it's released they signed a deal with Martin Schönherr to release it on his label Goregeous Productions. The day after it's release (and a very drunken release party), Fleshcut (hungover as fuck) attended a Battle Of The Bands and won!

In 2008 some more songs were made and Fleshcut could be seen doing most of their gigs that year with fellow drunks Carnalist (R.I.P). On one of the gigs, the two bands played as support acts to the Belgian killing machine Serial Butcher at Extreme Feast. The plans for a new release were at it's peak so they contacted Andreas Lundberg once again, who had relocated his Studio Carma to a somewhat better facility, and a deal was made.

They started to record what would be the full-length "Gruesome And Vile" in the beginning of 2009 that got released in April that year on Goregeous Produtcions followed by a release party/gig with Carnalist and RazorRape. Bass player Jarlau Wiahl left the band due to personal issues shortly after the release of "Gruesome And Vile" which made the band sort of inactive for a couple of months until Jimmie "Knudan" Ogefalk replaced him. Shortly after Knudan joined the band, they played another gig at Extreme Feast together with Sgt. Carnage, Havok, Chronic Torment, Demonished and Common Grave. They only did one more gig after that to then lock themselves in the rehearsal to write new songs.

Fleshcut returned from the grave in October 2010 to play Bodoni Deathfest with Immolate, Splattered Mermaids and Faithful Darkness, which were followed by a small gig with RazorRape and a gig on Jimmy Sandberg's drunken birthday party along with Temple Of Leviathan (in which Jimmy offered oral pleasure). Some new rehearsal demos were also released on myspace by the end of 2010.

Slurge left the band by the end of January 2011.

On the 4th of February, Fleshcut entered Studio Carma for the third time to record 5 filthy and dirty tracks for the EP "Evil Unfolds" - which was released by Goregeous Productions as a limited 3 inch CD and was stated "SOLD OUT!" a couple of months later. "Evil Unfolds" is from then only available as a CD-R "demo version" with self-printed cover given out for free by the band. The "demo version" does NOT contain the fifth track "Helvete" - which was an exclusive bonus track only available on the Goregeous-issue.

Adrian Doling-Hill (also known as "Desecrator" in the Australian black metal band INFEKTION) arrived in Sweden and joined the band in June 2011 as their new guitarist.

In late July 0f 2011 Pate Lundberg decided to leave the band due to lack of motivation.

In the beginning of August 2011 Knudan and Adrian switched instruments. Knudan took the role as the guitarist after two years of serving as the bassist, and Adrian took the role as the bassist.

On August 26th 2011 Fleshcut played their first gig with the new line-up (Adrian on bass and Knudan on guitar) in Copenhagen and featured Martin Schönherr (RazorRape, Splattered Mermaids) on vocals.

In early January 2012, Adrian Hill decided to leave Fleshcut because he's moving back home to Australia.

Fleshcut played their first gig in 2012 at their old usual hang-out Arena 305 on January 28th with Pate Lundberg on vocals.

On March 9th Fleshcut will play in Lund together with Fester and Erupted, Pate Lundberg will handle the vocals once again and Alex Roth of RazorRape and Extirpated will play bass.

On March 15th 2012, Pate Lundberg rejoined as the permanent vocalist.

Fleshcut once again entered Studio Carma on March 23rd to record 4 new tracks plus a cover of Entombed's "Out Of Hand". These 5 tracks plus the 4 off "Evil Unfolds" combined will be released as the second full-length entitled "Imbibe The Virtuous" to be released on Goregeous Productions June/July 2012.
