The band was founded in 1985 in Erfurt. She was one of the first heavy metal bands in the former GDR. Also, the East was already detected by the global metal shaft and MACBETH was the right time at the right place. First, even as four, came in the fall of another guitarist to do so. It appeared the first time without even on the infamous game permission. Shortly after the band changed the classification of the singer. With Wittenburg they found a charismatic frontman, who contributed to the success of the band. The band toured like crazy and the visiting supporters already prepared the authorities the first headache.

Finally, in the fall of 1986 it came to a legendary concert in Erfurt city garden. The hall was packed and even before that there were still hundreds of fans. The State Security populated the rank and watched the goings from there. The mood threatened by the narrowness of the hall running out of control and the band repeatedly tried to calm the people. At the end of the concert there was backstage visit from the police. They denied the band is still playing an encore. That broke the camel's back. Then came the real campaign against the band. The approval of the band truck has been withdrawn, terminated with threat of eviction and a fine imposed on the sample space of the Mayor ("The Red Rosi"). With a debt of 25,000 marks any kind of optimism was dead. The drummer joined Blitzz, bassist turned to leave and one of the guitarists was drafted into the army. Thus, there was also a personnel problem. Finally, in the spring of 1987, the cast was complete again. With the launch rename itself, the band finally carried on under the name CAIMAN. Wittenburg was sentenced in the spring of 1988 because of a trifle more than one year in prison. The band played from this point to fourth on. An experiment with a new singer was given after a few months again. Until the turn of the band was relatively unmolested tour of the state power through the GDR. In autumn 1989 Wittenburg came out of prison and they offered him to rejoin the band.

Unfortunately, in the chaos of turning the bass player and the drummer left the band to the west. With the support of the band Rochus, the band played their last two gigs.
