Biography

Well known for its tropical weather and large crocodile population, Cairns in far north Queensland is now also the breeding ground for extreme metal, courtesy of A Night In Texas.

Performing a brutal, uncompromising mix of modern death metal and new school hardcore that combines light speed riffing, technical drumming and a vicious vocal onslaught, this 5-piece are set to grab heavy music fans by the throat.

Initially forming in 2010, releasing their debut demo in 2011 and performing heavily around their local and surrounding areas, the band set about writing and recording their debut EP release.

Invigoration was self-produced by the band in Cairns, then sent to Brian Hood at 456 Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, who mixed and mastered the 5 chaotic tracks. A Night In Texas caught the attention of Australian record label, Skull And Bones Records, who signed the band and released the EP in May of 2013. After relocating to Brisbane city, the band embarked on a 19-date national tour in August/September of 2013 with label-mates I Shall Devour supporting the release.

After performing at 40+ live shows over the year following their EP release, A Night In Texas set about recording their debut full length album, The God Delusion. Produced and engineered by the band's guitarist, Cory Judd, and once again mixed and mastered by Brian Hood. The album is comprised of 9 tracks that ticks all the boxes for fans of technical extreme metal.
