Old times people needed offline community, now online community. Not necessarily online is better, I enjoyed listening to music with other people, trade cds and recommendations in close contact. Both has advantages, old times had
I don't think it would matter to me as long as I liked the music. It's not really just the music it's self it's also the tv shows and movies I grew up watching.
Or if you went to some gig where some really good band played, that you had never heard of before because there was no internet to know anything about them
Sure it's easier to get the music now, but it surely it must have felt more rewarding to go through all the trouble to acquire the music in the old days, to find all the rare good stuff physically
