Bruce Dickinson - Trivia
Bruce Dickinson is an experienced fencing competitor after being introduced to the sport at the age of 11. On January 19th, 2025 he appeared at the Circuit Européen 2025 fencing tournament in France (Faches-Thumesnil) as a competitor, representing Britain. He finished 13th in the overall standings out of 31 fencers in the "Veterans" category.
Tyranny Of Souls was recorded as more of a project album rather than a full band effort.
Roy Z is credited with getting Bruce back into the metal scene after persuading him to record Accident Of Birth after the grunge-influenced Skunkworks project.
The songs "Book Of Thel", "Gates Of Urizen", and "Jerusalem", all three of which appear on the album The Chemical Wedding are influenced by and based on poems by romantic era poet/engraver William Blake. Blake's artwork has also been used for sleeve designs for Chemical Wedding and Anthology.
The puppet which adorns the cover of the Accident of Birth album, is named Edison, and is a play on the Iron Maiden mascot Eddie. Both were created by Derek Riggs.
