May 2008 - May 2010: That's the entire duration it's taken in 2 different studios to record and re-record Psalms?

November 2009 - May 2010: is the 7 months we've spent at Q Audio recording this inimitable labour of love?

Our new album is called "Psalms of Conscious Martyrdom", in case you've not heard. And we'd like the title to slither under your skin and tickle your senses before we give you our interpretation of it.

We've certainly taken time in sowing the seeds of our most sacrosanct creation in our 10 year existence as (arguably) one of the most provocative bands - for lack of euphemisms - to emerge from the Asian region. And truly it has been an overwhelming experience; I must commend the entire band? Tenny, Andrew, Javeen and Taraka for doing an amazing and absolutely inspirational job with truly stunning performances. Ozzie's done a fantastic job helping us capture the essence and true specter of the band; the unbelievable heaviness & jaw dislocating arrangements with remarkable clarity. This is an album the way albums were recorded back in the day, we master our instruments and then slaughter ourselves to attain perfection or something very close to it in the studio, if something's amiss then we simply go back to scratch and re-record it, we feed off each others' energy and that of our music and it's been one hell of a learning curve and wonderful endeavor these past few months.

"Psalms of Conscious Martyrdom" is really special; yes, because it is our 10 year anniversary and a true culmination of everything we've absorbed and been moved by in this decade. Its heavy music played passionately, each song telling its own story, every note, and every sound having its rightful place on the record. A big shout out is due to all our friends who supported and strengthened us throughout the process of the recording? it's been one hell of a long ride and wait but you can't say it ain't worth it boys and girls right? Those of you who've heard it? everyone else will need to be very patient for a few weeks more.

"Psalms of conscious Martyrdom" will be launched on Saturday the 26th June 2010 @ the British School Auditorium, from 7pm-10pm. Tickets will be Rs.1000/= per head which includes the gig Ticket+CD+a new signed poster of the Band. We have a few new magic tricks down our pants - but will wait till they are fully confirmed to reveal them. Spread the word and please be there to support pure homegrown music.

The other HUMUNGOUS news is that Stigmata have now Officially signed up with local label mammoths M Entertainment to launch "Psalms of Conscious Martyrdom". We've been chatting and working things out in the past few months and M Entertainment has always supported us by selling "Hollow Dreams" and "Silent Chaos Serpentine" at their outlets, we have considered and given this a lot of thought and we feel collectively that this is not just a milestone in the Sri Lankan music industry but that this is partnership that ought to blossom and reach fruitful & unprecedented heights. We'd like to thank Pradeep Maharaja and Nikki Marzook for their faith, positive vibes & steadfast support.
