Anneke Van Giersbergen - New Live Album Out Today
Today is the official release day of Anneke Van Giersbergen's new live album, Let The Light In (in collaboration with Kamerata Zuid chamber orchestra). The album was recorded by Jonathan Heywood, mixed by Guido Aalbers at Giesound and mastered by Darius van Helfteren. Hajo Müller designed the album cover. The entire music output is now available for listening via Bandcamp down under.

Amorphis - Share Live Track Video Feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen
Finnish masters of melancholic progressive metal Amorphis recently played special shows ("An Evening With Friends" at Juhlaviikot - Huvila) in Helsinki, where they performed a very special setlist with guest musicians and friends. These shows will be part of the new tour edition which is scheduled to be released on February 24th via Nuclear Blast. The package includes the entire album Under The Red Cloud with two bonus songs as well as the live tracks in Helsinki. So, the band unveils the first video to one of these live tracks. The video shows the song "Her Alone" featuring Anneke van Giersbergen, which is the last song of the bonus CD. You can watch the clip here.

Anneke Van Giersbergen has a new band! The Dutch singer has just announced Vuur, which is about to record its debut album. The band also features members from The Gentle Storm project, including drummer Ed Warby, bassist Johan Van Stratum, guitarist Ferry Duijsens, and singer Marcela Bovio. Guitarist Jord Otto is also in the band. These past few months, they have been busy writing and rehearsing songs for their debut album that will be recorded early next year and released in the fall of 2017 via InsideOut Music. Be prepared for something heavy, melodic and progressive.

As you'll probably already know, the man behind Ayreon, Arjen Anthony Lucassen, is now busy with a new project involving singer Anneke Van Giersbergen, about which you can read more here. The most recent news about it is that the name for the band has now been revealed, and it is The Gentle Storm. Moreover, it seems like Anneke will play live with the band next year, while Arjen, judging by his replies to his fans' Facebook comments, won't, as he "stopped playing live a long time ago."

Arjen Lucassen - Updates On Album With Anneke Van Giersbergen
Back in April, Ayreon's mastermind Arjen Anthony Lucassen revealed that he was working on a new project, a double album with singer Anneke Van Giersbergen (Anneke Van Giersbergen, Devin Townsend, ex-The Gathering). If you were curious to know more about it, Arjen just gave an update and the album is already being recorded. Bassist Johan van Stratum (Stream Of Passion) will play bass on the album and Ed Warby recorded the drums. Rob Snijders, who played drums on Ayreon's The Universal Migrator Part I: The Dream Sequencer and on Arjen's solo album Lost In The New Real, also recorded percussion.
