Cryptopsy - Bassist Quits The Band
Guitarist-turned-bassist Youri Raymond of Canadian metallers Cryptopsy has issued the following statement on the band's MySpace page:
"I am officially announcing my departure of the band Cryptopsy. At this time, we feel it's in the best interest of both the band and I to part ways. As a musician, moving from guitar to bass was a great challenge, but honestly, I never really felt comfortable in that position and my motivation in general was stagnating.
I'm now moving forward and will release an album in 2012 on guitar/lead vocals with my band Unhuman and I hope Jon, Matt, Chris Flo and the new guy who will fill in in the bass spot the very best with the upcoming album and what might be the "real" Cryptopsy coming back! Thanks again fans and friends for your endless support!"

Rage Nucléaire - New Project By Ex-Cryptopsy Vocalist
Rage Nucléaire - the new project led by ex-Cryptopsy vocalist Dan "Lord Worm" Greening - are finishing up the last pieces of their upcoming debut album, entitled Unrelenting Fucking Hatred.
Said Lord Worm to Bravewords: "Rage Nucléaire is a hate-filled blend of melodic black metal and violent industrial. It's a three-piece and its other component parts are Alvater on guitar, synth, drum programming, and background vocals, and Dark Rage on guitar, background vocals, and secret things even I'm not privy to.
A full-length CD, Unrelenting Fucking Hatred, is currently in the works. The three of us seem to share the same bleak world vision, for one thing, and this shows up very clearly in the compositions. Alvater used to be in the godly Frozen Shadows, and I know he hasn't spent nearly a fraction of his accumulated rage. Dark Rage and I don't do a lot of cretinous smiling, either.
Also, I remember a talk with (ex-Cryptopsy guitarist) Steve Thibault about ten years ago, in which he said something about having one more album left in him. As it turns out, he didn't, but I've often thought about that, and I figure I might have one or two left to expiate. As the millennium progresses, so does the aural assault perpetrated by really nasty practitioners of the Black Art; good. I just want to add my voice to the global chorus of discomfiture. And so, I will.
I'm still into doing live stuff but we'll have to see about that. There is also some material being written for a second release, and we'll probably have to put up a Facebook page, too, at some point. Other than that, I'm just looking forward to being dead, but then, aren't we all."

Nader Sadek - Band Ft. Mayhem, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy Members Signs With Season Of Mist
Season of Mist is proud to welcome innovative Egyptian-born artist Nader Sadek to the roster.
Known as the designer responsible for the stage imagery on Mayhem's 2009 US tour, Nader decided to delve deeper into the metal world by forming his own project. He thus teamed up with guitarist Rune Eriksen (Ava Inferi, Aura Noir, ex-Mayhem), bassist Steve Tucker (ex-Morbid Angel) and drummer Flo Mounier (Cryptopsy) to create a death metal project under his own name.
Nader Sadek's debut is entitled In the Flesh and features compositions and performances by all four artists and has been set to a May 16th release in Europe, and a day later in the USA. The video for "Nigredo In Necromance" off the new album can be watched below.
Says Sadek: "My general association with death metal, deals with the notion of false perceptions, and how great individuality can be smothered by the weight of an overwhelming environment. This idea is ever-present throughout all my work. Each of the players in this album played key roles in their respective bands, facing difficult challenges, and yet taking their bands to higher levels. Their talent as well as their tenacity has always intrigued me. As such, they fit perfectly in this project."
"I've been looking forward to doing this recording for months", Steve Tucker comments. "Nader does some very interesting art and I enjoy helping him achieve his twisted vision. It's rare to get to play alongside a drummer with the abilities that Flo possesses. It's a bonus that I get the opportunity to jam with professionals such as Rune and Flo. It'll be brutal."
Flo Mounier adds: "It's amazing that artists with different backgrounds can come together to create something so extreme and so dark but yet have so much fun doing so! It has been a pleasure working with Nader and Steve in the past and I'm looking forward to experimenting with Rune's unique style, I can't wait to start laying down the extreme with my boys."
Rune Eriksen: "When first being approached by Nader to collaborate with him, Steve and Flo, I was immediately caught up by the idea of it. Not only is Nader's concept and reasons for doing this of an inspirational character in itself, but also the very thought of collaborating with musicians such as Steve and Flo seemed like an opportunity not to miss."
