Death Angel - Enter The Studio

Rob Cavestany, guitarist and vocalist of Bay Area Thrashers Death Angel has announced the following statement:

"Greetings Fellow Earthlings!

I am thrilled to announce that Death Angel will enter the studio to begin tracking our new album on September 16 with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Velvet Revolver, Shadows Fall, Stone Sour) in Los Angeles.

Nick came up and did pre-production with us at our studio in Oakland and we had a BLAST. The vibe is certainly ON and we are beyond excited to start tracking with him! Recording should be complete by the end of October and mixed by November. This will undoubtedly be our best sounding record ever!

This album is gonna be insane. The songs are so fuckin heavy and wicked! Musically brutal. Brutally musical. This shit will wake you up!

Here we go into the beautiful twilight zone of recording the album? See you on the other side!"

Mourning Beloveth - Enter The Studio In October

Irish Doom Metal outfit Mourning Beloveth have updated their website with the following update:

"Again some time has passed since the previous update and we have been busy writing the new album. We are set to record in Studio E in Germany from October 1st to 14th, bring it home and then master it. Four songs complete at the moment and 3 more in the pipeline, titles include 'The Burning Man', 'Primeval Rush' and 'The Sickness'. Another labyrinthine journey through some torturous doom as the album should have a running time over an hour.

We have had the pictures from Bamberg up for some time but no report and believe me it is probably better we didn't report...everything was great for the gig, sold out venue, some great support bands and loads of beer..thats where the problem started for one or two members, suffice to say we didn't cover ourselves in glory and so we agreed with the organisers to make up for our drunken performance by playing at this years Way of Darkness festival on the 5th and 6th of October www.wod-festival.de. We should be on stage mid afternoon on Saturday and we will save the drunkenness for afterwards. December should see us play Greece again but we are not cpnfirmed yet so watch this space. As regards touring plans are forming through our booking agent and previous bass player, Adrian through Lugga Productions www.luggamusic.com and we should be heading out for a week at the end of March.

We are now on my space too http://www.myspace.com/mourningbeloveth and we will add photos to it of all our upcoming shows for those to lazy to go to the website.

As for merchandise we still have some AMC shirts with tour dates on the back. Hopefully we will have a re print of all AMC merch by the end of the summer.'

Kataklysm - Entered Studio Last Week

The band entered the studio last week with producer and guitarist J-f Dagenais, - drummer Max Duhamel will be first laying down the drum work for "Prevail" - The recording process will last five weeks (hopefully) with vocalist Maurizio Iacono schedualed to record his vocals in September.

Maurizio's comments:
" The album is done and ready to go, although it was a breeze to write this album as things came so naturally, on the lyrics end, I worked the hardest i have in years making sure everything is where it should be,at times it was real difficult but the end result will speak for itself, Im truely convinced this album will take no prisoners, as you know we dont repeat the same record twice, this album stands on a league of its own..and im not saying its our best album, because only the fans have the right to say wether it is or not, all im saying is I listen to the songs and I wanna punch the fucking wall, that means we are on to something good."

Kataklysm has also hired the services of Producer Jason Suecof (Chimaira / Trivium / The Black Dahlia Murder) to mix the album in early January 2008, "Prevail" will also feature some guest appearances to be announced at a later date.

The highly anticipated album is scheduled for a worldwide release date of May 23rd 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Stay tuned as the band will release a few touring announcements very soon...

Mercenary - Entering The Studio

Vocalist Mikkel Sandager of Danish metal act Mercenary has issued the following update:

"Well, first of all, the new album is really progressing rapidly. We are in writing mode and it feels really good to be creative again. I guess I didn't realize how much I had piled up inside because I find myself writing and writing.

"Can't comment on any titles or songs yet but I am really exited about everything I have heard so far. It is going to be very nice to have René in the process as well as he is able to give us the harsh vocals that I couldn't do on 'The Hours That Remain'.

"On another note, I am starting to look very much forward to playing the next show. I guess I have become quite addicted to doing shows and I feel pretty strange to not play any for two or three months.

"We will start recording the new album in late October and hope for a spring 2008 release but no date has been set yet."

Motörhead - Double Live Album And Audio Samples

The following message was posted on SPV's website:

"Better Motörhead Than Dead - Live At Hammersmith rekindles memories of a momentous night that even a cosmopolitan city like London doesn't see every day. Early June 2005 saw the long queue in front of the venerable Hammersmith Odeon, a venue of many legendary live shows - stretch right to the tube station on the other side of the road. What was going on? Motörhead had invited their fans to their 30th anniversary party, and over 5,000 of them accepted. Their number would have been even greater had the powers that be in the British capital not rigorously limited the capacity of the illustrious venue. Loved by their fans, respected by the press due to the personal integrity of the three band members, Lemmy Kilmister, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, Motörhead were experiencing their seventh or eighth spring in the 30th year of their existence and continued to be as generous as ever.

The track listing consists of 23 songs, a kind of 'best of Motörhead' featuring, among others, classics such as 'Bomber', 'Ace Of Spades', 'Overkill', 'Sacrifice' and 'Iron Fist'. Then there are some more recent tracks from their 2005 release, Inferno, and a number of surprises: June 2005 saw Motörhead delve deeply into vaults that their fans had assumed to be permanently locked up. "This one is from an album that you hated," Lemmy announced to his dumbfounded audience, reviving Another Perfect Day with 'Dancing On Your Grave' and 'I Got Mine'. And lo and behold - the fans enthusiastically celebrated songs in 2005 that they had once condemned. A truly remarkable night."

"Better Motörhead than Dead: Live at Hammersmith" tracklisting: (cover here)

Disc 1:
01. Dr. Rock
02. Stay Clean
03. Shoot You In The Back
04. Love Me Like A Reptile
05. Killers
06. Metropolis
07. Love For Sale
08. Over The Top
09. No Class
10. I Got Mine
11. In The Name Of Tragedy
12. Dancing On Your Grave

Disc 2:
01. R.A.M.O.N.E.S.
02. Sacrifice
03. Just 'Cos You Got The Power
04. (We Are) The Road Crew
05. Going To Brazil
06. Killed By Death
07. Iron Fist
08. Whorehouse Blues
09. Bomber
10. Ace Of Spades
