Dissection - New Line-up Announced

Reactivated Swedish death metallers DISSECTION have revealed their new lineup on the eve of their headlining performance in Stockholm on Saturday (Oct. 30). Joining mainman Jon Nödtveidt (vocals and guitar) in the new formation are Set Teitan (guitar, ABORYM, BLOODLINE), Brice Leclercq (bass guitar, NIGHTRAGE) and Thomas Asklund (drums, INFERNAL, DAWN, DARK FUNERAL). As previously reported, an audio sample of the new DISSECTION single, "Maha Kali", has been posted online at this location: http://www.dissection.nu/sounds/mahakali/mahakali_sample.mp3

"Maha Kali" (view cover here: http://www.dissection.nu/pics/mahakalicover.jpg), described by the reactivated Swedish death metallers as "a hymn to the wrathful black hindu goddess of Mahapralaya, the great dissolution of cosmos, Jai Maha Kali," will initially only be available directly from DISSECTION via their official web site and on tour.

DISSECTION recently spent time in the studio working on their first studio recording since 1995's classic album "Storm Of The Light's Bane".

DISSECTION guitarist/vocalist Jon Nödtvedt was released from prison several months ago after spending seven years behind the bars for murdering an Algerian homosexual. A short-lived collaboration with former EMPEROR drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun ended in December over "the demands of DISSECTION's Satanic concept." A documentary DVD and a new studio album are expected sometime in 2005.

Dissection

DISSECTION guitarist/vocalist Jon Nödtvedt and drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun (ex-EMPEROR) have spent the past few weeks looking through the audition videos that have been sent to them from all over the world. In the beginning of next year, real auditions will be held for some of the musicians needed to complete the group's lineup. It is, however, not too late for interested musicians to send in their tapes.

All material should be sent to:

"audition"
DISSECTION
Mail Box 209
111 73 Stockholm
Sweden

In other news, plans exist for a DISSECTION documentary to be filmed over the course of the next year. Starting in the prison, it will follow the group through bandmember auditions, Jon's release from prison, the recording of the next album, and will include footage from their comeback tour in December 2004.

The tour will reportedly be "something out of the ordinary," with shows around two hours long and containing only old material ? more or less every song from the first two albums, "The Somberlain" and "Storm Of The Light's Bane".
