Dream Evil - Update From The Band

The following message was posted on the official website of Swedish Power metallers Dream Evil:

"Finally we've got a new webmaster and our new site is up and running as you all can see. It's been totally quiet in the news section for a wile, we're sorry about that! We are not dead, only lazy old farts.

So what happened in the Dream Evil camp the last six months?
For family reasons our lead guitarist Mark Black unfortunately left the band and we now have a new (hairy & scary) axe swinger called Dannee Demon .

Dream Evil will release a cd with some new songs and some old songs (which earlier only have been released as bonus tracks in Japan) combined with a live DVD recorded November 25:th 2006 in Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg. The preliminary release date is now set to March - April 2008. The album will be called "Gold Medal in Metal".

We are all working in our metal factories on making new splendid unbloody serious farmer metal anthems that hopefully will show up on our next studio album.

We also hope that the "upcoming live shows"-section on this site will be filled with gigs in a near future near You."

Dream Evil - USA Date/New Video

On December 13th, Sweden's Dream Evil will make their first US performance, when they headline the Century Family's Third Annual Christmas Balls show at The Key Club in Hollywood, CA. Tickets are on sale now. More performances will be announced in the coming weeks.

Peter Stalfors (bass) further conveys the band's excitement over their first U.S. performance: "Ever since we released our first album, DragonSlayer, we hoped to have the opportunity to perform in the US. Over the years, we received tons of mails from fans all over North America, and now at last we have the opportunity to give at least some of you a chance to see us. We are really excited about this and look forward to see you at the Key Club in Los Angeles, when it's finally time to show the US what we've got. We will play songs from our new album United, along with a ton of oldies as well, so we hope you are ready for a full-on metal onslaught."

Dream Evil returns with their fourth full-length album, "United". The group recently completed a new video for the album's opening track, 'Fire! Battle! In Metal!', with renowned director Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Lacuna Coil). The video definitely lives up to its title; click here to check it out.

Dream Evil - Peter And Niklas Left The Band

Dear followers,

Because of personal issues and the fact that Niklas has problems with constantly recurring health problems we have taken the painful decision to leave the band.
All our friends are telling us that it's a bad idea to leave the band now when it's starting to get big, but you may come to a point in your life where you have to make a choice.

We have now come to this point in our lives and the choice we have made is to put more time into our families and work.
We've known for a long time that the bigger Dream Evil becomes the more time it will take from the other important things in our lives and in time it was inevitable to make a decision.
Therefore we have decided to leave Dream Evil.

There are no hard feelings between us and the other guys in Dream Evil, We're still the best of friends and they totally understand the position we are in.

So it is with the best confidence we now pass over the mantle to the new members Jake E Berg and Tommy Larsson. They have our blessings and we are confident they will fill our shoes just perfectly and leave nothing for the fans to be desired.

We wish to thank all fans for the support through the years and for making the time in Dream Evil a memory for life.

Stay Evil In The Night
Peter and Niklas

New Project With Dream Evil & At Vance Members

Drummer Snowy Shaw (DREAM EVIL, MEMENTO MORI, NOTRE DAME, KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE) has released more information about his upcoming project with singer Mats Levén (AT VANCE, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, TREAT). As previously reported, Shaw and Levén will begin demoing material at the end of May.

In an e-mail to BLABBERMOUTH.NET, Shaw commented, "Mats and I really clicked and it turned out we very much shared the same musical preferences. After he turned down the offer to replace the singer in another band I'm in, the two of us decided to form something new on our own. We've been writing a lot of material and will start demoing some stuff shortly."

Shaw's video for the track "XXX - Le Masochiste" has been posted online in the "Downloads" section of his official web site, SnowyShaw.com.

Directed by Snowy, Rob Nasty and Dixxie for White Trash Inc., "XXX - Le Masochiste" is described by Shaw as "a little glimpse of what's to come" from his forthcoming solo project.
