King Crimson - Founding Member Died

King Crimson announced via their social media that Ian McDonald, the band's co-founder, has passed away at the age of 75. Ian played several instruments (saxophone, clarinet, flute, mellotron, etc.) and also did vocals on the King Crimson's debut album, In The Court Of The Crimson King. As a singer he also performed on Foreigner's first three records.

King Crimson - Drummer And Keyboardist Bill Rieflin Passed Away

After a long battle with cancer, drummer and keyboard player Bill Rieflin passed away yesterday at the age of 59. For the last seven years he was part of legendary prog rockers King Crimson. From 1986 until 1994 Bill was part of industrial metal band Ministry and also performed in couple of other groups, including Revolting Cocks, R.E.M., Land, Pigface, and so on.

King Crimson - 50th Anniversary World Tour Dates Announced

British legendary progressive rock band King Crimson will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year by embarking on a 50-date world tour. The majortiy of dates have been confirmed, with few more dates to be added to European and Latin American part. The North American leg will begin in late August, following European and Latin American, that will go through in June / July.

King Crimson - Greg Lake Passes Away

Greg Lake, who fronted both King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, has died aged 69. Born in Bournemouth and one of the founding fathers of progressive rock, the British musician is known for songs including "In The Court Of The Crimson King" and "I Believe In Father Christmas". He died on Wednesday after "a long and stubborn battle with cancer," said his manager. The news comes nine months after Lake's band-mate Keith Emerson died. Keyboardist Emerson died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to coroners in the U.S.

King Crimson - New Tour Dates Announced

At the end of last year, Robert Fripp announced the return of King Crimson. Now the legendary prog rock group finally announced new tour dates for this year. King Crimson returns to active service in the front line on September 9th, 2014 with 17 US performances, the first since 2008.

King Crimson - Robert Fripp Announces Return Of The Band

An astonishing surprise in the music world today as Robert Fripp has announced on his online diary that the legendary prog band King Crimson are back in motion. On September 6th 2013, Fripp confirmed King Crimson's newest iteration, stating that "this is a very different reformation to what has gone before: seven players, four English and three American, with three drummers. The Seven-Headed Beast of Crim is in Go! mode". Now revealed, the 8th incarnation of King Crimson will be Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, Jakko Jakszyk and Robert Fripp.
