Miseration - New Album In The Works

Swedish death metal band Miseration are currently busy working on a new full-length album with producer Marko Tervonen (guitarist in The Crown). The band has also parted ways with drummer Rolf Pilve.

The band issued the following statement: "In about 2½ months we will start recording what is going to be our 3rd installment (album-title tba), since the start back in 2006. For this one Marko Tervonen (The Crown) has been tapped to helm production-duties, at his own MT studios, located in Trollhättan, Sweden. Christian and Marko have known each other since the mid-'90s, so this will not be the first time their roads cross each other. For instance, initially, Christian was the second guitarist of Angel Blake, which is another band of Marko's!

Here is what Mr. Tervonen has to say for himself: "Fuck yeah, kick ass!!! Looking forward producing the next Miseration album, godamnit! My homeboy Christian Älvestam's band. Not so many people know, but me, Christian and a few others (!, oh so mysterious famous people) actually had a secret project going on around 2003, where we recorded some tunes in the style of Katatonia, Paradise Lost etc. Really good stuff if you ask me, but it (for some reason) stayed in the C: Well, nevertheless. I'm really looking forward getting my hands extra dirty producing their hardcore Death Metal!! Let the motherfucking hammering begin!"

As for post-production, mastering duities will once again be taken care of by our good friend maestro Plec!

Last, but not least, we are sad to announce that we have parted ways, on a friendly basis, with our buddy Rolf Pilve. This desicion has nothing to do with personal conflicts or anything like that. This is simply the result of Rolf living in Finland, being a member of several hard-working Finnish bands, unfortunately leaving him very little time to focus on Miseration. This will however not affect any of the other collaborations Rolf, Christian and Jani have got going together. Rolf's replacement will be announced shortly! More news as it happens!"

UPDATE (thanks to 120032)

According to a posting on the band's Facebook, Swedish death metal band Miseration have pushed back the recording of the new album to February 2012.

Here's the full message: "After some discussions within the band, we have agreed on pushing back the recording of our new album until February 2012, due to various reasons. This will however not affect the choice of studio, nor the choice of producer! More news as it happens!"

Miseration - Part Ways With Guitarist, Replacement Announced

The following news was retrieved from the MySpace of Swedish death metal squad Miseration:

"Unfortunately, we have some sad news for you all. For personal reasons, guitarist Jani Stefanovic has decided to part ways with both Miseration and Swedish melodic death metal act Solution. 45.

In an official statement Jani states: "For several years I have been working with many talented musicians and done many albums in a very short period of time. Music is my passion, but over the last year or so, I have felt that I want to focus more on quality time with friends and family. I do not intend to quit music, but at this point I feel that I am not ready to commit to these bands as much as would be necessary. I just feel that my personal life is striving for something else than the rest of the guys in Solution .45 and Miseration. There´s absolutely no bad blood between us and I do wish both bands great success, cause they are really good, with nothing but quality people in them. Us parting ways has consequently notning to do with musical- or personal differences, or anything like that for that matter. I just feel that this is not my place to be right now. I am very satisfied with the result of both the Solution .45 debut album and the latest one from Miseration and do feel that I can leave with my head held up high."

We want to stress two things:

While we are extremely sad to see our brother go, there is no bad blood between Jani and ANY of the Miseration or Solution .45 members whatsoever. We respect Jani's wishes and so should you. In fact, Jani, and the boys will still be found jamming together in The Few Against Many and possibly future outings to come.
Both bands will move on, stronger than ever. We are happy to announce Tobias Alpadie of Jesiah, as Miseration's new second guitarist.

More news as it happens!"

Miseration - Sophomore Album In The Works

Christian Älvestam from Swedish Death metallers Miseration has checked in as follows: "We are set to enter the Panic-Room studios late June, once again with producer Tomas "Plec" Johansson at the helm, to record the follow-up to our debut album "Your Demons - Their Angels". The new album, entitled "The Mirroring Shadow", will most likely include eight to ten songs of hard-hitting, non-compromising death metal. It will once again be released through Lifeforce Records, later this year!

In the meantime, we will embark on a mini-tour in May, throughout Europe, alongside our good friends in Inevitable End (who recently released their debut album "The Severed Inception", through Relapse Records) and with an appearance at Legacy Festival on May 23rd in Dessau, Germany."
