A Nightwish song will be heard on the upcoming Olympic Games. The symphonic metallers seem to be everywhere - even in sports! The Australian national team of synchronized swimmers now announced that they will be using their song "Last Ride Of The Day" off Nightwish's Imaginaerum from 2012 for their competition at the Olympics. The track will be played in an orchestral version during the swim performance of the team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nightwish released a strictly limited special tour edition of their most recent album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful, on October 30th via Nuclear Blast. Nightwish have announced that their song "Shudder Before The Beautiful" was awarded "The Metal Anthem Of The Year" award at Metal Hammer Awards 2015 that were held in Berlin, Germany recently. Nightwish's Troy Donockley and fill-in drummer Kai Hahto took the award on behalf of the entire band. The Finns released the song as a promotional move for their 2015 album Endless Forms Most Beautiful.

Nightwish just finished a North American tour recently in support of Endless Forms Most Beautiful but there are already plans to come back! The symphonic metallers have announced a 26-date headlining tour of North America for 2016, launching in Sayreville, New Jersey on February 19th, hitting six Canadian cities plus Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and New Orleans, then closing out in Tampa, Florida on March 23rd. Opening for the tour will be Dutch symphonic metallers Delain.

The Finns do it again, this time with metal stamps! A music-themed stamp sheet is set to be released in September designed by graphic artist Klaus Welp when the Finnish postal service, Posti, issues several new series of stamps. The rock and metal stamps were created to honor six Finnish bands that have achieved international success and they look pretty neat. The bands featured in the stamps are Hanoi Rocks, The Rasmus, HIM, Apocalyptica, Children Of Bodom and Nightwish.

Finland-based symphonic metal masters Nightwish sold 18,342 copies of Endless Forms Most Beautiful in its first week of sales in the United States. The record hit # 34 on Billboard U.S. Top 200, making it the third time that Nightwish made the coveted chart. Their last full length release, the 2011 Imaginaerum, sold just under 12,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release.
