Three years after they released The Sun I Carried Alone, Norwegian black metal duo Iskald will return with their new album titled Nedom Og Nord, on January 14th in Norway and the rest of Europe, and January 17th in Germany/Austria via Indie Recordings. Nightwish mastermind Tuomas Holopainen has been working hard on his solo album. The Finnish keyboardist has spent most of the year 2013 writing and producing the solo album. The whole album will be based on a graphic novel called The Life And Times Of Scrooge McDuck, written and illustrated by Don Rosa. The author of the book, Don Rosa, has also done the artwork for the album called The Life And Times Of Scrooge, which is scheduled for a release in April of 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records.

There is probably some nostalgia now looking back at Finnish metallers Demilich, who disbanded back in 2006 and released their first and last full-length album Nespithe in 1993. Now Svart Records is releasing a compilation of their recordings. The set comes with cover art by Turkka G. Rantanen, and a fold-out A2/B2 size poster with art by David Mikkelsen. The box set comes in 2CD and 3LP forms and is called The 20th Anniversary Of Emptiness, available through Svart Records on January 17th, 2014.
