Opeth - Nominated For Swedish P3 Guld Award

The newest Opeth's release Heritage is bringing very good news for the Swedish metallers. Opeth have been nominated once again for a P3 Guld Award in the Rock/Metal category. For the first time, it is up to the public to cast their votes rather than the professional industry, which didn't happen in previous editions in the 8 year history of the awards. Opeth already won the award once in 2003 and since then have been nominated many times but never managed to win again.

Versailles - Upcoming DVD Tracklist Revealed

Japanese power metal/J-Rock outfit Versailles have revealed the tracklist to their new live DVD entitled Chateau De Versailles -Jubilee-. The DVD comes out on December 21st in two formats, the normal edition and the limited edition.

Cloudscape - New Album Completed, Artwork Revealed

Swedish prog metallers Cloudscape have completed the work on their upcoming album New Era and unveiled its artwork.

The band posted the following on their official website: "The work with Cloudscape's forthcoming 4th album entitled New Era is now finished! The band offers a strong, melodic album and probably their best to date. New Era was produced by Micko Twedberg, mixed by Micko Twedberg together with Anders "Theo" Theander, mastered by Anders "Theo" Theander, who also is executive producer, all done at RoastingHouse Studios."

Spawn Of Possession - Complete Work On New Album

Swedish tech-death assassins Spawn Of Possession have completed work on their third full-length album, Incurso, for a spring release via Relapse Records. The CD, which will contain nine tracks plus an instrumental intro, was recorded at Pama Studios in Kristianopel, Sweden with engineer Magnus "Mankan" Sedenberg.

Megadeth - Public Enemy No.1 Nominated For Grammy Award And Loudwire Music Awards

Megadeth's "Public Enemy No. 1", the 2011 single from the band's latest album Th1rt3en, has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Megadeth is nominated along with Dream Theater, Foo Fighters, Mastodon and Sum 41. This is Megadeth's 10th Grammy nomination. The awards will be broadcast Sunday, February 12th, 2012 on CBS.

Greek metallers Firewind will start recording songs for their upcoming new release soon, the follow-up to 2010's Days Of Defiance.

Volbeat - Part Ways With Guitarist Thomas Bredahl

Danish rockers Volbeat have decided to part ways with guitarist Thomas Bredahl.

The band announced it on their official website: "Volbeat has decided to part ways with Thomas Bredahl. Being in a band is in many ways similar to a marriage with ups and downs. At times you can work it out and sometimes you need to go separate ways... We want to thank him for the work he has put in for Volbeat and we wish him all the best in the future. Volbeat will play all shows as announced, either as a trio or with a replacement guitarist. Right now we'll take a well deserved break and we will be back on the road in January, ready to rock the Gigantour and Wacken."

Metallica - New Shows Added To 2012 Summer Tour, Oscar-Nominated Director To Direct Upcoming Music Video

According to Metallica's official website, two new locations were added to the 2012 European summer vacation tour. Germany and Austria are the new additions with shows at Rock Im Park and Rock Am Ring. Metallica are veterans in these two festivals performing for the fifth time in both of them.

Amazon uploaded audio samples for each song from Imaginaerum, the new upcoming album from the Finnish symphonic metal act Nightwish. The samples were uploaded to the band's Soundcloud website and you can now listen to them here.

Nightwish posted the following on their official website: "Here are the official tasters from Imaginaerum! Benefit Concert - Darkthrone, Satyricon And Taake Members Come Together For Jonas R. Christiansen

On November 18th, members from high profile Norwegian metal bands, including Darkthrone, Satyricon and Taake, will take part in a live show called "Algir - Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen", at Bergen's prime rock venue, Garage. The aim is to raise awareness for colon cancer. In addition, Helheim, Gravdal and Slavia themselves will perform in order to help raise funds and provide 31-year-old Jonas Christiansen with a chance to fight the disease.
