Nominon - Part Ways With Vocalist, Studio Update
Swedish metallers Nominon have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:
"Greetings people, fans and fiends of the Grotesque.
We're now almost done with the drum tracks at the renowned Necromorbus Studios. It all sounds massive and rotten, there's just no other way! The drum room starts to reek of Perras creativity and I guess he soon for sure are worthy of his price, it comes bottled from Scotland! Mixed with Atlanta/Georgias pride: Coca Cola, he'll enjoy the rest of his time in the studio!
We have some news from the tomb for you all! The drums are now done and put on tape, I guess, 'cause why else would Perra be sitting here beside me, the editor of death, and enjoying his whiskey and coke?
Today the tormented voice of Juha has ended up on a couple of songs too, yes, that means we've started to record the vokills, it all sounds really promising. We can't wait to let you guys and gals listen to this! And by now you should all understand that Daniel is not participating on this recording or the future of Nominon!
Enjoy the mutilation!"

Exodus - Terminal Press To Release Exodus Comic Book
Following a Dimmu Borgir comic book - Link] - Terminal Press will release a comic starring Exodus, entitled "Exodus: Death Begets Death". Here's the official press release:
Thrash metal legends Exodus are the subject of the new Terminal Press comics/metal crossover comic book "Exodus: Death Begets Death".
You'll learn your lesson in violence with this one-shot apocalyptic horror comic book that will incorporated themes and imagery from the band's back catalog, focusing specifically on "Bonded By Blood", "Tempo of the Damned", "Shovel Headed Kill Machine", and "The Atrocity Exhibition - Exhibit A" (so I guess they won't do... the "Toxic Waltz").
Not only will the story be about the theme's of Exodus' music, but the Bay Area bashers themselves will make an appearance as five crazed prisoners sent on a mission to stop a a supernatural being who calls herself the Earth Mother, who's wiping out armies.
Set in a ruined America of the near future, the story follows two war generals who rule over military fiefdoms the size of time zones. General Scraw controls the west coast, while his twin brother General Scraggg reigns from a seat in Las Vegas. The twins amuse themselves by sending the military's toughest war toys, the Shovel Headed Kill Machines, into the deserts of the MidWaste to exterminate the human rabble that scrabbles for survival there. But when General Scraw learns that his military has been wiped out by a supernatural being calling herself the Earth Mother, he sends five crazed men who may or may not be the members of Exodus from the bowels of his own prison to stop her. But many more people will die before the strange woman gets what she wants, and the twin generals will learn the price of their own misdeeds.
"As many things as we get to do as a band, traveling the world, getting paid to drink and play thrash metal, I don't think anything can touch being immortalized in our own comic book! I am so stoked about this, you have no idea! This thing is sick and I can't wait for it to come to life for the world to see!" says Exodus' Gary Holt.
"Exodus is the living embodiment of Thrash Metal, doing it right and blowing audiences away to this day. To say getting to work on this project is an honor would be an understatement. It is our responsibility to make sure this book slays and we happily take that challenge on," says Terminal Press publisher and "Dimmu Borgir: Dark Fortress" writer Brian Ferrara.

Krallice - Complete Work On New Album, New Song Online
Official press release
Krallice have completed work on their new album "Dimensional Bleedthrough".
Featuring guitar wizard Mick Barr (Ocrilim, Orthrelm, etc...) and New York's new renaissance/man-of-all-trades within the underground metal scene Colin Marston (Dysrhythmia, Gorguts, Behold... The Arctopus, etc...) and now rounded as a full-line up with drummer Lev Weinstein (Bloody Panda) and bass player Nick McMaster (Astomatous), Krallice have created an album that goes much beyond the eponymous debut and have taken their hypnotizing progressive blackgaze into more transcendental, epic, and ethereal territory.
Like the debut times ten, "Dimensional Bleedthrough" is a more intense and much more involved album with its myriad of insane counterpoint and guitar acrobatics. Indeed there is a lot to absorb with this album as there is no let up whatsoever in it's 77 minute discourse. Whereas in the beginning, Krallice was seen as the "black metal band of Mick Barr and Colin Marston" (for the record, they don't really consider Krallice black metal), with "Dimensional Bleedthrough" a more complete band feeling unearths itself courtesy of the stunning rhythm section provided by Weinstein and McMaster (who also does vocals on the new album) and has helped intensify the Krallice sound, one in which they have now defined as their own by converging the styles and influences from all said band members' respective repertoires.
Still the black/death metal influence is still inherent in Krallice's massive sound canvas, along with influences that range from such acts as Voivod along with the inherent familiar traits that can be heard from all members' other musical projects.
An MP3 of the title track can be heard via our MP3 section.
Look for "Dimensional Bleedthrough" to unleash itself on November 10.
"Dimensional Bleedthrough" cover art] tracklist:
01. Dimensional Bleedthrough
02. Autocthon
03. Aridity
04. The Mountain
05. Intraum
06.
07. Monolith Of Possession

Chrome Division - Change Vocalist
Guitarist Shagrath has issued the following update on behalf of Chrome Division:
"Hail all you Rock 'n' Rollers out there! We thought it would be the right time for a little update from Hell, to all the Chromers out there. A lot of things are happening in the Chrome Camp these days, and not everything is ok for some...
First and foremost, we've decided to part ways with Eddie Guz, the voice of Chrome since 2005. He's out, due to lack of dedication and commitment to the band. Since the band is more active than ever, it would only slow down the tempo of achieving their future goals. This decision needed to be done for the benefit of Chrome Division. Eddie Guz will still remain a friend and a drinking buddy, but sometimes friendship and music don't always blend easily together. But we ensure our fans that there is no need to worry.
In February, Shady Blue (Athera of Susperia) stepped in for Eddie on a gig in Germany, and the result was very pleasing for both the band and the fans. So we are happy to announce that Shady Blue has now become a full worthy permanent singer in Chrome Division.
The breakup had some consequences in form of the cancellation of two festival jobs in Germany, which is totally unfortunate and really frustrating for the band, but sometimes the shit hits the fan for real... Nevertheless, a concert in London is booked for October 2nd and our hometown, Oslo, will get Chromed the 30th of November. So the live situation doesn't look too bad after all.
Anyway, we also want to enlighten and share with our fans that Chrome Division is in a full creative process of completing the material for our third album. Only a few more songs to complete before it's ready to be recorded. We're aiming for a release sometime next year.
A new member, new oil in the engine, new boost and a new era. Await the 3rd chapter of unholy rock n' roll!"

Year Of Desolation - Back From The Dead
After a small hiatus, Year Of Desolation have issued the following update on their MySpace:
"I am pleased beyond belief to be able to say this: Year Of Desolation IS going to start tearing shit up again. That's right, after a year and a half long hiatus, we've all talked and it's going to happen. The line up is going to be:
Chad Zimmerman - Vokills
Brandon Lytle - Bass
Matt Behner - Drums
Josh Kappel - Guitars
John M. Hehman II - Composition/Guitars
Mike had to leave us about 2 and a half years ago because of some personal issues but he's got it all sorted out and we're glad to have him back on board. That being said, Brandon Lytle is a 100% phenomenal Bassist, we appreciate him, the time he spent with us and we wish him all the best. Much love and respect Bran.
So what's going to happen?
New material: We've got some stuff we've all been workin on the past 2+ years and we're gonna get together over the winter and try to finish it up and get it recorded. It's going to be slightly different than what you're used to from us. Bigger riffs, more memorable parts etc. The "progressive" aspect will still be there but these songs are written with the "lets just fucking headbang" mentality. Is it going to be the fastest shit we've ever done? If 265bpm isn't fast enough for you, go drive a Top fuel dragster.
Record Label: Not holding our breath, this may be a self financed operation from here on out. Maybe if we saw something on goldflek paper and inked in blood.
Touring: There is NO big rush to get back into touring, we're going to look for the right opportunities instead of just killing ourselves by taking everything that is thrown at us. That being said, don't be surprised if you see us out around spring time next year.
Management: Who knows."

Portal - Complete Work On New Album
Profound Lore Records press release
Demented Australian death metal enigma Portal have completed work on their most unnerving and intense album to date. Entitled "Swarth", the new Portal album is another surreal, bizarre, and disturbing display of death metal psychosis. Like a fisting orgy hosted by Cthulhu, and ultimately, the death metal soundtrack to the end of the world.
Almost like the missing link between "Seepia" and "Outre", "Swarth" crawls and lurks through Portal's deranged use of counterpoint and dynamic yet inverted rhythmic shifts that create an unearthly suffocating and claustrophobic vibe where dissonant and meticulously constructed guitar mutations unconventionally melt and warp themselves into a feeling that conveys one of pure horror and total dread. Although this time more labyrinth and swarming-like, the visions of murk and bile that manifest from the horror that is "Swarth", paints a disturbing mind-numbing cinematic scenario of unease. Like an ancient silent art film gone terribly wrong, directed by someone who has managed to escape a Turkish prison and gone mad after many years of being subjected to torture and humiliation. Or a scenario akin to an ancient abandoned boarded up asylum where damp and rotting walls creak, leak, and have trapped the tortured ghosts of memory's past who have yet to be freed from the torment that will forever plague them. Of course the Lovecraftian presence, just like all other Portal releases, is ever apparent with "Swarth", its infectious tentacle-like character hovering like that powerful and ominous presence that has descended from the stars. A presence that we can only adhere to.

In other Portal related news, Profound Lore will be releasing the debut from Portal counterpart act Impetuous Ritual, featuring Portal drummer Ignis Fatuus on guitars and new Portal bass player Phathom Conspicuous. Their debut album, "Relentless Execution Of Ceremonial Excrescence" is like a mix between Incantation's "Onward To Golgotha" and Bestial Warlust's "Blood And Valour". This piece of blasphemous death metal chaos should pierce the light by year's end. Visit their myspace page HERE to hear a track off the upcoming full length.
And also Portal have been confirmed for next year's Maryland Deathfest (with other possible shows to happen Stateside) marking the band's first appearance on these shores where they will ignite the fires of chaos through their live ritual.
