Shaman - New Lineup, New Song, New Website

Drummer Ricardo Confessori has assembled a new SHAMAN lineup following the group's split last October. Joining Confessori in the new group are guitarist Leo Mancini, vocalist Thiago Bianchi and bassist Fernando Quesada. Check out a photo of the new group at HeavyLaw.com. A song from the revamped band, entitled "One Life", can be downloaded at this location*.

This website seems to be the homepage of the new Shaman. Note that it doesn't seem to be officially open, yet you'll find many information on the new band, and their new album entitled "Immortal." Why the band seems to be able to use the name "Shaman" and not "Shaaman" is still unknown.

*It can also be streamed at the new website.

The Great Deceiver - New Album And Unmastered Song

The following message was posted on Swedish Alternative Death Metal band The Great Deceiver's official website:

"The new The Great Deceiver album "Life Is Wasted On The Living" will be released on Deathwish Records. This is an outtake from http://www.deathwishinc.com:

In 2007, The Great Deceiver will release "Life Is Wasted On The Living", their new album on Deathwish. Produced and engineered by Berno Paulsson (The Haunted), "Life Is Wasted On The Living" takes their trend killing approach to new heights. Combining the intensity of hardcore, the power of metal, and the hook laden repetition of industrial, into a new kind of musical apocalypse".

You can also find the complete headline on Deathwish Records here.

To finish, the band is currently putting the finishing touches on the album. In the meantime, check out the unmastered song "Home To Oblivion" on Deathwish Myspace here

Obituary - Studio Update And News About Missing Guitarist

The following tour/studio update was issued on the website of legendary US Death Metal band Obituary:

"We had 4 great shows in Mexico with Sadus and really want to thank all our fans for coming out and supporting us and our crew guys for their hard work! This trip took us through 4 cities and saw the reunion S.O.S. show - Sepultura - Obituary- Sadus! What a blast!!!

4 shows in 4 cities in 4 days was not exactly easy, but it was a lot of fun!

The good news! The studio has been going great and all the music is just about done being tracked. This is some really heavy material and I can't wait to get this released! When we get back from Australia we will start the final mix with Mark Prator at RedRoom Recorders!

The bad news! Anyone that keeps up with this website or our message board knows we usually keep you up to date with what is going on. We have been usually quite about Allen and his absence from these last set of shows. Well, Allen has gotten himself into trouble again and we have been waiting for him to make a statement himself:

"To my friends and fans,
I have gotten into trouble that can only be resolved by my incarceration. I will do this with thoughts of all of you. Soon I will be free again and come back stronger and better. My release is scheduled for February 2008. I will not let this problem kill my spirit and will use it to sharpen my creativity. Hope to see all of you next year. Allen West"

This sucks and there is not much we can do about it but, we will continue to move on and do what Obituary does! We have a lot planned for this new album with Candlelight and look forward to the September release of our new CD! Tomorrow we are off to Australia for our first trip down under and we can't wait to have a few cool ones with our Australian fans!!!!!

After Australia we head to South America for 5 shows! Click HERE for the full Tour Schedule."

Exodus - Guitarist To Release Instructional DVD

Exodus guitarist Gary Holt will release his first-ever instructional DVD "A Lesson in Guitar Violence", later this month through Zaentz.

Holt previously stated about the upcoming DVD, "I am planning on focusing on rhythm technique, some lead chops, and going over the correct way to play some of the Exodus riffs. I feel there are enough straight shred things out there, so I want to do something as bit differrent. And of course I will make it funny as hell!"

Zaentz Records is the new label formed by Steven Warner (Exodus' manager) and partner Jonnie Zaentz (son of Saul Zaentz, Fantasy Records co-founder). Zaentz is an independent artist-friendly upstart label that features an in-house, state-of-the-art recording facility.

Unleashed - European Tour Cancelled

The following announcement has been psoted on the official Uleashed website:

"Sadly....and just like with a few other tours before ours..... The tour promoter Metallysee fucked up again...!!!
It is with anger in our hearts we have to announce that the european tour has been cancelled for reasons completely beyond our control. Ourselves and our brothers in Belphegor tried in a combined effort to make this tour happen until the very last minute, but in the end there was nothing we could do.

HOWEVER, thanks to the local promoter in Ireland the shows in Dublin and Cork this weekend will happen as planned!
We will also do the headline festivals in Germany:
The Deathcrush fest in Adelsheim on the 26th of May and Hellraizer fest on the 27th in Leipzig.

We are of course extremely disappointed but will not let this bring us down!
We will spend no extra energy on slandering Metallysee, it is far too obvious that this company is not worth mentioning ever again.

Unleashed will reschedule the European tour to later this year, most likely in the autumn."

Metallysee was also responsible for the cancellation of the remaining of the Earthshaker Roadshock Tour (News Story) and the Excess Of Evil tour (News Story).

Nightwish - Warn For Concert Hoax

As posted on the official website:

"Somebody in Greece is making promotion for a Nightwish-show next June. There is even a poster of that "concert". That concert is a hoax, so don't buy tickets for that show! English translation from that poster goes:

"NIGHTWISH launch their world tour, beginning with Greece, and will proudly present their brand new "mystery" singer SONTRA...
Saturday, June 23rd, 2007 - Lycabettus Theatre - Doors open at 19:30 - Show starts at 21:30 - Ticket Price: 40 Euros"

So once again: All that text is so called bullshit."
