After a 5-year-long hiatus, Swedish funeral doom masters The Funeral Orchestra came back last year. Recently they've announced the release of their second studio album, Negative Evocation Rites, due out on June 1 via Nuclear War Now! Productions (Vinyl). You can listen to the 13-minute opening track "Negative Evocation" via Bandcamp down under. Additionally, the band put out Apocalyptic Plague Ritual MMXX (March 31st) - alternative MMXX versions of previously released compositions - available for listening in full.

The follow-up to their 2003 debut album, Feeding The Abyss, will be entitled Negative Evocation Rites (to be released this summer/autumn) and is currently in the recording phase. The Funeral Orchestra have teamed up with Ocean Chief for the release of The Northern Lights II. The album will be released somewhere in summer. Each band performs one lengthy number on this split release, Ocean Chief with the track "Born", while The Funeral Orchestra do their first track all in Swedish, called "Den Morka Shamanens Glod".
