Following the recently-announced European tour with Heathen, Toxik guitarist Josh Christian has refuted recent reports on his personal Facebook page that the band's long-awaited third album Dis Morta would be released on May 27th of this year. Even though Christian simply stated that there is currently no release date set for Dis Morta, the release schedule by Massacre Records (with whom Toxik had signed last May) now claims that the record will be released on August 5th, 2022. Bay Area thrash legends Heathen have announced a headlining European tour in June with Toxik, whose long-awaited third album Dis Morta is due for release on May 27th. This tour will see Heathen supporting their most recent album Empire of the Blind, which was released back in September of 2020, and a follow-up record from the band is tentatively due for release next year.

Toxik guitarist Josh Christian revealed in a recent interview with the Italian website Metal Skunk that Dis Morta has been set as the "official" title of the band's recently-completed third studio album, which will be their first full-length since 1989's Think This. In other news, the release schedule by Massacre Records (with whom Toxik had signed last May) has listed May 27th, 2022 as the release date for Dis Morta, though this has yet to be verified by the band themselves. It's been about 33 years since New York thrash legends Toxik released their last album Think This, with the exception of three new songs back in 2017 on the EP Breaking Class, which was followed one year later by a box set of demos, and new and unreleased tracks, III Works. However, 2022 will more than likely change that, as guitarist Josh Christian confirmed on his personal Facebook page that the band's much-anticipated third studio album is finished. Christian's comments follow up last year's announcement that Toxik were signed to Massacre Records, who will release the band's new record.
