Two former Necrophobic guitarists who had left the band back in 2011 are now returning to the fold: Johan Bergebäck and Sebastian Ramstedt. Meanwhile, guitarist Fredrik Folkare has been fired from the Swedish death metal unit. Back in 2013, frontman Tobias Sidegård was arrested for domestic violence and the band decided to go on without him. The follow-up to Womb Of Lilithu, their last album, is now finally seeing the light of day. The group has started to write new music and plan to record the long awaited new album during the end of 2017.

The birth of the group has been announced in a statement posted on At The Gates' Facebook profile and it reads: "The Lurking Fear is bringing sheer, natural weirdness and horror back to the scene, as we want our death metal ugly, twisted and possessed.
